Dockside Margaritas Pays Tribute to Pleasure Island With Summer Drinks Menu

Walt Disney World visitors with fond memories of Disney Spring’s old Pleasure Island District will want to stop by Dockside Margaritas starting on June 29th for a very special #ThrowbackThursday promotion.

Dockside will be recreating some of the Pleasure Island’s famed libations including Adventurers Club’s much- loved signature drink the Kungaloosh which will be available for $9.

According to a post on WDW News Today, other favorites that are being revived for this fun Summer offer include the Techn-o, Bell Bottom, and Thriller that used to be served up at the old 8-Trax nightclub, Armadillo Punch from Neon Armadillo, Punch Line from Comedy Warehouse, Hoopla from Mannequins, and the Pleasure Punch and Funmeister.

WDW News Today is reporting that the drinks will rotate on a weekly basis but that the Kungaloosh will remain a weekly staple.

For guests looking for a non-alcoholic drink, Dockside will also be serving up Emil’s Strawberry Colada also from the Adventurers Club for $5.00.

Be sure to head on over to Disney Springs to enjoy these tasty treats which will be available every Thursday until September 28th. . Dockside Margaritas can’t be found in Disney Springs Marketplace District and is typically open from 12pm to either 10:30 or 11:00 pm.

The Ultimate Disney S’mores Are Now Being Made At The Ganachery In Disney Springs

Stop the presses! Have you heard about the new Ultimate Disney S’mores being made at The Ganachery in Disney Springs? These scrumptious treats are made-to-order and you can even watch your S’more being created in The Ganachery’s show kitchen. The best part is watching the marshmallow being toasted with a blowtorch (see video below)!

The Ultimate Disney S’more is made with two homemade graham crackers topped with cinnamon and sugar. Both crackers are spread with a salted caramel ganache. The ganache is then sprinkled with sea salt.

Next a homemade vanilla bean marshmallow, made from scraped Madagascan vanilla beans, is toasted with a blowtorch. The heating process caramelizes the sugar on the marshmallow with the flame.

Once the marshmallow has been placed on the ganache, a custom blend of chocolate called “Dark 65” is laid on top. “Dark 65” has been specially prepared in sheet form with the Ganachery’s logo. It is a single origin chocolate with beans harvested from the Dominican Republic. The 65 means that 65% of chocolate came from the cocoa bean.

Finally, the S’more is assembled and a Mickey silhouette made of powdered sugar is placed on top. Watch the video above to see the Ultimate Disney S’more being made from start to finish.

These amazing treats are priced at $8 each. Currently The Ganachery does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan.

With Pandora – The World of Avatar being based on a PG-13 James Cameron film that was released in 2009, I am sure the question entering the minds of many Walt Disney World guests is; how would this possibly entertain my children? Well, I have the answer!

Pandora is without a doubt Disney World’s most popular attraction this Summer, and there are many reasons why. The landscape is incredible, where else can you walk under a floating mountain?! One look at the hashtag #flightofpassage on Twitter is proof enough that the new ride, Avatar Flight of Passage, is being considered the best attraction at Walt Disney World. With a height requirement of 44″ you’re probably still questioning traveling to Pandora with your littles. Check out this list of Pandora – The World of Avatar “must-dos” for families traveling with preschool aged children:

Upon entering the Valley of Mo’ara, stop by the Flaska Reclinata a giant pink plant that releases steam from large spores located in its center when you pound on its belly!
Air condition is always a welcome break from the Florida heat when traveling with youngsters. The Na’vi River Journey is a calm indoor boat ride that floats travelers through a bioluminsecent forest.
Your preschooler is sure to enjoy a stop at the bead bar in Windtraders, where kids can craft Na’vi-inspired necklaces using feathers and beads.
What child doesn’t love to dance and make music? Throughout the day, there is a 15-minute musical performance that guests can dance and sing along to, and the kiddos can bang on the drum circle made from the roots and natural Pandoran environment.

Celebrate Dad this Father’s Day at Frontera Cocina in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World! They will be offering a three-course menu featuring the following:

Start with Coctel Verde as your appetizer: Poached Florida pink shrimp and Baja bay scallops, tangy serrano-tomatillo salsa, lime, jicama, avocado, warm tortilla chips.

Enjoy Surf & Turf Frontera Style as your main course: CARNE ASADA – Red chicle-marinated Creekstone Natural Black Angus steak, black beans refritos with Cotija cheese, caramalized plantains with crema and queso fresco, tomatillo salsa. SHRIMP MOJO DE AJO – Pan-roasted Mazatian blue shrimp with slow-cooked garlic, chicken broth, olive oil, lime, chipolte.

Beauty and the Beast stole our hearts more than 25 years ago when it introduced us to one of the most beloved Disney princesses of all time. Little girls around the world have been inspired by Belle’s non-conforming spirit and her passion to trade her predictable village life for adventure.

Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle in the 1991 film, was awarded with Disney Legend status a few years ago in 2011. Paige recently visited the Magic Kingdom where she met up with Belle and Beast, and shared some of her favorite Disney memories. Among her favorites include the fun Disney appearances leading up to the film’s release.

Paige also shared her thoughts on why the character of Belle is still so beloved to this day. Take a look!

Disney Cast Member with Rare Disease has Wish Granted by Scotty McCreery

Dustin Chapman, an employee at the Disney Store in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, has always dreamed of performing with American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery. On Tuesday, that dream became a reality!

Dustin suffers from an incurable disease called Achalasia. Achalasia attacks the esophagus making it difficult for food and water to pass into the stomach.

Per his mom, Sandi Chapman in a Chip & Co. exclusive, Dustin and his family are huge Disney fans. He was been accepted in the Disney College Program twice but has not been able to attend due to his health.

Dustin was able to preform one of his own original songs with Scotty McCreery along with McCreery’s hit “See You Tonight.”

We wish Dustin all our best and want to thank Scotty McCreery for granting Dustin’s magical wish!

New Disney Cruise Line Survey Question Hints At Future Required Prepayment For Certain Activities

A new survey question is being sent out to Disney Cruise Line guests that may hint of changes coming for future passengers. It appears that Disney is determining public opinion on paying ahead of time for Port Adventures, Adult-only Specialty Dining (Palo/Remy), and Royal Court Royal Tea (special character dining event).

Currently Disney Cruise Line passengers are not charged ahead of time when booking excursions or specialty dining before the cruise. The excursion is applied to the passengers’ shipboard account and is charged to the approved form of payment the evening before debarkation day.

Rebel Wilson Wins Defamation Case Against Australian Tabloid Publisher

As we previously reported, Rebel Wilson filed a lawsuit against Australian published, Bauer Media. Wilson brought the suit against the publisher because she claimed they were publishing lies about her that caused her to lose job opportunities.

The six person all women jury deliberated for two days before they found Bauer Media guilty of saying Wilson lied about her age and that she also lied about Rebel being her birth name. In addition, they also claimed Wilson lied about having malaria, her parent’s occupation as dog trainers, and even being related to Walt Disney.

“The reason I’m here is not for damages, it’s to clear my name,” Wilson told the press. “I was hoping the jury would do the right thing and send a message to these tabloids and they’ve done that so for me, it’s over in my mind.”

Bauer Media is the publisher of Australian magazines Woman’s Day, Australian Women’s Weekly, NW and OK.

Wilson is well known for her roles starring in Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids.
