One Man’s Dream Attraction Will Be Reimagined into “Walt Disney Presents”

The One Man’s Dream attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will soon become “Walt Disney Presents.” This reimagined area will now serve as a preview center that will allow guests the opportunity to catch a glimpse of new projects in the works at Hollywood Studios.

Be sure to stop by this attraction beginning in September to view a never-before-seen model for Toy Story Land! You will also be able to see concept art and ride vehicle maquettes from Toy Story Land. Also on display in September will be a portion of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge model that was first on display at this summer’s D23 Expo. Guests will also be able to get a first look at the concept art for the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction that will be replacing the Great Movie Ride.

This reimagined space will continue to display fascinating sketches, photos and storyboards from Walt Disney’s history. The attraction will also continue to host character greetings like Star-Lord and baby Groot in addition to sneak previews of upcoming Disney films.

New Transportation Options Available For Port Adventures To Disney World

Are you looking for the ultimate Land and Sea Disney Vacation? Michael Rooker to Celebrate Release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on DVD by Meeting Fans at West Hollywood Barber Shop

On Tuesday, August 22nd, fans in the Los Angeles will be able to pay tribute to their favorite ravager Yondu and celebrate the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. on DVD and BluRay. The event will be held at Shorty’s Barber Shop and Michael Rooker, who plays Yondu in the films, will be there to pay tribute to his character and interact with fans.

Why a barber shop you ask? Because it the perfect place to get the Yondu look! That’s right. Those brave enough, can treat themselves to the FULL YONDU which includes a red faux hawk and a shave! The haircut will only be available to 10 lucky ravagers but we’ll tell you how you can register an interest below.

For those not feeling brave enough to sport Yondu’s famous coif, additional activities include:

Petition Started to Keep ‘a bug’s land’ at California Adventure

Even though it wasn’t announced at last month’s D23 Expo, rumors have been circulating that a new Marvel-themed Land would be replacing “a bug’s land” at Disneyland’s California Adventure.

That rumor has apparently upset some devout fans of the Land inspired after “A Bug’s Life” movie. One fan has started a petition on change.org to stop this rumor from ever coming to fruition.

Tracy Robber of Granger, Indiana started the petition titled “Save a bug’s land at California Adventure.” The petition states:

“There have been rumors about Marvel land coming to Disneyland. Although they haven’t confirmed it yet, they are thinking about removing ‘a bug’s land’ and replacing it with Marvel land. But I think that would be wrong! ‘A Bug’s Life’ is my favorite movie and it’s so underrated. And I believe they should reconsider and keep ‘a bug’s land’ at Disney California Adventure. If they want to build a Marvel land at Disney California Adventure, then I suggest they replace Hollywood land with it. The dates for Marvel land coming to Disneyland have not been confirmed yet, but let’s not let ‘a bug’s land’ be permanently gone forever! Sign and support now!”

Former Professional Wrestler Denied Entry to Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom isn’t always the happiest place on Earth for everyone. Former wrestler, Magnum T.A., learned this first hand when he was denied access to the park yesterday, August 9.

Magnum T.A uses a Segway with a built-in seat as his preferred form of mobility. The professional wrestler is paralyzed with injuries sustained from wrestling and a serious car accident that ended his career in 1986.

While Segways are not explicitly listed on Disney Park‘s banned items, descriptions of similar items are listed.

Many people have taken to Twitter to express how unhappy they were with Magnum T.A’s denial including his stepdaughter, Tessa Blanchard.

Details on New Star Wars-themed Resort Begin to Emerge

Star Wars Fans everywhere were beyond thrilled when Disney confirmed a new Star Wars-themed Resort coming to Disney World at this year’s D23 Expo. The first details about the new fully-immersive resort are starting to emerge thanks to the folks over at The Disney Blog.

Each guest of the resort will have the option of going on a “mission.” The mission will be carried out both while you are in the resort and while you are in the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. How well you do on the mission will determine the reputation you receive while you are at the resort as well as in the Park. Multi-day stays will be required at the resort so guests can have a chance to carry out their missions and enjoy the parks.

Plans call for guests to view the resort as a “flying spaceship resort” instead of your typical “terrestrial hotel” found on Earth. When a guest looks out of their window at the resort will be treated to views of a “far off alien planet.” Guests will have their own droid right by their bed to help with completing their missions.

The concept art released by Disney of an “active role play room” shows where guests will carry out missions of like flying a starship into a space battle with the First Order.

As one would imagine, the lounge and bar area will be uniquely themed as well. As you can see in the concept art below, the lounge/bar area looks over another alien planet. If you take a closer look, you will also be able to see Naboo on one of the monitors. Naboo is one of the destinations from Star Tours.

Now one of the questions that everyone has been asking: “What’s it going to cost me?” Well, have you ever been on a Disney Cruise? Because you are looking at prices similar tho those. Projections are for the first guest to cost $1300 while any additional guests would be $400 per guest. These prices are for a two night stay.

Reports indicate that the new resort will be located next to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge while not inside the actual Park. Supposedly, Hollywood Studios will have a new entrance built while the old entrance will be the entrance to the new Star Wars Resort.

As The Disney Blog points out, this is going to be a massive project for even Disney to undertake. There are so many moving parts involved in the project it will be interesting to see how it all turns out. Several reports indicate that the new restaurant going into Mission: SPACE will be a way for Disney to research a way they can “convincingly transport guests into space for a unique experience. It is also a way Disney can experiment with new technology that will be used in the resort.

ABC News Settles Large Defamation Lawsuit Over ‘Pink Slime’

Buried in the Walt Disney Company’s Third Quarter Earnings Report released earlier this week was $177 million ABC News paid in a settlement to Beef Products Inc (BPI) over a defamation lawsuit.

Beef Products Inc is a South Dakota-based meat processing company. ABC news claimed in a report that BPI manufactured beef that was referred to as “pink slime.” Even though ABC News stated the beef was safe to consume by humans, BPI said the claim hurt their bottom line.

The suit was originally filed in 2012 and was settled just this June. The $177 million does not appear to be the full amount that ABC News paid BPI but rather a sum of the settlement amount along with the ongoing litigation fees involved to reach a settlement.

CNN reported that $177 million “would likely represent roughly a year’s worth of advertising revenue for ABC’s evening news program.” Other reports say that this is likely the largest settlement ever paid out by an American News Company over a defamation lawsuit.

Disney is the parent company of ABC/ABC News.

Disney California Adventure Park’s Atwater Ink & Paint has long been a favorite spot to stop and shop while strolling down iconic Buena Vista Street. In the past merchandise has been mainly of the housewares and kitchen variety but Disneyland announced yesterday via their official Twitter feed that the the shop is expanding its wares to include a vast collect of official Disney trading pins.
