Disney Fantasy Alters Course to Steer Clear of Hurricane Irma

With Hurricane Irma speeding its way across the Atlantic, Disney Cruise Line informed guests setting sail from Port Canaveral today that they would be switching the order of ports during the Western Caribbean sailing departing today in order to keep cruisers out of harm’s reach.

According to guests heading out to sea on the Fantasy, letters were handed out at Check-In informing cruisers that the itinerary for the cruise would be reversed. This would make the updated itinerary look something like this:

09/02/17: Port Canaveral

09/03/17: At Sea

09/04/17: Falmouth, Jamaica

09/05/17: Grand Cayman

09/06/17: Cozumel, Mexico

09/07/17: At Sea

09/08/17: Castaway Cay

09/09/17: Port Canaveral

Disney Store Celebrates Grand Opening of Second Store in Shanghai

Disney Store today opened the doors of its newest store at the HKRI Taikoo Hui Mall in Shanghai. Located in one of the city’s most vibrant shopping and entertainment hubs, Disney Store will provide consumers locally designed and exclusive merchandise and a uniquely Disney shopping experiences.

“We’re committed to bringing consumers new, immersive retail experiences and high-quality products from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars,” said Mr. Kermid Rahman, Vice President and General Manager of Disney Consumer Products and Interactive, China. “This new store complements our comprehensive retail offering that includes licensing and e-commerce and delivers a mix of unique locally and internationally designed products.”

Opening celebrations include:

The launch of Disney Store’s first China-exclusive high-end fashion collection of bags called M28 Mickey Collection. The striking collection features a black theme color and Mickey’s iconic white gloves as the key design element. The new collection signals Disney’s ongoing push into high fashion in China.
For the first two weeks of opening the store will feature an exclusive Golden Metallic Mickey Wall with 888 limited-edition metallic color Mickey plush key chains hung from ceiling to floor. The numbered key chains can be pre-ordered in the grand opening period of new store opening.
To promote the new Disney Store opening, Disney Store and Mobike co-launched marketing campaign, rolling out special Mickey & Minnie Mobike across Shanghai. The Mall offers consumers a fun-filled Disney themed bike-riding experience which allows them to enter a lucky draw featuring gifts from Disney Store.

The interior of the new Disney Store features uniquely Disney images and immersive elements. A large LED screen at the entrance of the store will entertain customers with Disney stories and characters from across Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars in a special and interactive way.

Disney Store now has two locations in China – Shanghai Lujiazui Flagship Store and Disney Store at HKRI Taikoo Hui, Shanghai; and two online stores on Tmall – Disney.tmall.com and disneyfashion.tmall.com. The first Disney store in China, located in Lujiazui area, has become a popular shopping destination in Shanghai and a national landmark of retail and tourism since its opening.

RECALL ALERT: Hallmark Announces Recall for Disney Plush Animals

Hallmark has just announced a recall for their Disney “Itty Bittys Baby” animal stacking toys. The recall states that the rattling rings on the Disney plush toys have fabric hats and bows that may become detached and pose a choking hazard.

Around 5,800 toys in the United States and 200 in Canada are affected by this recall. Hallmark has already received one report of the bow on one of the plush toys falling off. Thankful, no injury was reported due to the incident.

The toys were sold at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores, online at Hallmark.com, and on Amazon.com from June 2016 to July 2017. They retailed for around $30.00. They sit 10 inches by 7.5 inches by 9.5 inches, have a yellow base stand, and four rattling rings with Mickey and friends that slide off the post.

If you happen to have purchased one of these toys, make sure to take it away from any children immediately. You are also advised to contact Hallmark at 800-425-5627 from 9 am to 8 pm EST Monday through Friday. Construction to Begin on Permanent Shade Structures at ESPN Wide World of Sports

Currently at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports at Disney World, tents are use as shade for the bleachers on Fields 21 to 24. This is about to change though as Orlando Theme Park News is reporting that permanent structures are being built to replace the tents.

Construction on the permanent structures in already underway and is scheduled to be completed by February 2018. The structures have been designed to not block the view of any spectators attending an event. The project is being completed in phases. Construction has begun on the area between fields 21 and 23.

Exclusive Chase Disney Visa Lounge Cut From this Year’s Food & Wine Festival

Each year, during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, one of the amazing perks for Chase Visa Cardmembers was the special Chase Visa Lounge located within the American Experience in Epcot’s World Showcase. The lounge was a haven for card members looking to escape the Food & Wine hustle and bustle as it was the perfect spot for Disney foodies to cool off, recharge those cell phones and cameras and enjoy a free Coke Beverage. In sad news for cardholders, the Lounge for this year has been discontinued.

In addition, during Epcot Food & Wine, Chase also historically offered an exclusive viewing area for cardmembers to watch IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth but it would appear that Chase has pulled out completely from this year’s Festival and this is no longer on offer.

Food & Wine Passholder Merchandise No Longer Available at Innoventions East

In the past, Annual Passholders at Epcot for the International Food & Wine Festival would typically make a beeline to Innoventions East to get their hands on the special Food & Wine merchandise exclusive to Annual Passholders. However, as our very own Chip discovered during a recent visit, the AP merchandise stall in Innoventions for this year’s festival is notably absent.

Instead, Food & Wine merchandise can be found at various shops and kiosks throughout Epcot. Those looking for their FREE Annual Passholder gift can find them over at Festival Center. This year’s AP freebie is stirring up a bit of controversy. In year’s past, passholders were rewarded with special keepsakes like shot glasses and tumblers. However, this year the gift has been downsized to a button. You can find out more about the free gift here.

Great news Pumpkin Spice fans! It’s time to break out the fall decorations. The unofficial drink of fall, Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte, is back at Disney World!

We reported earlier this week that the rumor was the drinks would be returning on September 1 or September 5. We are happy to report that September 1 was the correct date.
