Change is in the air at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. As of this morning, guests arriving at the park were met with tan scrim and roped-off pathways at the entrance to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The area has officially closed for a significant refurbishment as Walt Disney World prepares to welcome the highly anticipated Bluey experience this summer.

The iconic entrance sign, which famously encourages guests to “Open Your Eyes To the World All Around You,” is currently hidden from view, signaling the end of an era for the Conservation Station in its current form.

What’s Included in the Closure?

This isn’t just a minor paint job. The refurbishment impacts the entire northern section of the park, accessible only by rail. The following are currently unavailable:

Wildlife Express Train: The rustic transport to and from the area is stationed for the duration of the work.
Affection Section: The beloved petting zoo is currently shuttered.
Conservation Station: All indoor exhibits and veterinary viewing windows are closed.

The Magic Kingdom’s proposed land dedicated to iconic Disney villains is getting a fresh rethink after the success of Universal’s Epic Universe. A detailed report from TheWrap’s Drew Taylor has offered new insight into the creative direction of the project, following earlier reports that the original plans had been scrapped in favor of “bolder, bigger ideas.”

A high-energy Zootopia party will roll in as part of Mickey’s Storybook Express featuring superstar Gazelle’s concert bus. The celebration will hit full throttle as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde lead an upbeat Zootopia bash, joined by DJ Officer Clawhauser spinning lively tracks. Surrounding the vibrant concert bus, a vibrant troupe of Zootopia residents will amp up the excitement, including Gary De’Snake winding himself into playful knots, newly elected mayor Brian Winddancer leaning out with confidence, and the Big family will join the festivities too! Together, they will fuel a high‑spirited street party elevated by infectious performances of “Try Everything” from Zootopia and “Zoo” from Zootopia 2.

Illuminate! A Nighttime Celebration

The dazzling nighttime spectacular shines brighter than ever on Enchanted Storybook Castle. The reimagined “Illuminate! A Nighttime Celebration” will debut a grand new finale where Mickey Mouse appears in a flash of magic sparkles, wearing a majestic new magician ensemble.

Fountains, lasers, fireworks, and projections will turn the Gardens of Imagination into a festive party. Plus, a brand-new segment inspired by Disney Animation’s Wish will feature Asha, Star, and the inspirational lyrics of “This Wish”.

In a nod to one of China’s most iconic birthday traditions, noodle dishes will appear across menus throughout the resort. The culinary journey continues with signature flavors hailing from cities around China, providing guests from across the country with a wide array of options to enjoy distinctive treats infused with a Disney twist.

Fan-favorite snacks from the past decade will also return and 10^th anniversary souvenirs — like new popcorn buckets, cups, and straw clips inspired by the park’s favorite snacks — will let you bring the magic home.

The largest dedicated merchandise collection in Shanghai Disney Resort history will debut for the milestone year. Plush, apparel, accessories, collectibles, and more will feature glimmering designs inspired by Mickey and Friends, Duffy and Friends, and Enchanted Storybook Castle.

And for the first time, new interactive and personalized elements give guests ways to express themselves, including the all-new Magic Wand, which lets guests summon and collect magic throughout the park.

From the moment you arrive at the gate, anniversary magic shines brightly. A new Mickey Floral display will feature the 10^th anniversary logo and a playful birthday hat, while glimmering stars and hidden 10^th motifs will appear throughout the park, hotels, and Disneytown.

Magical Moments with Cast Members

From morning to night, cast members will be creating memorable moments, from whimsical floor art to delightful shopping and dining encounters, as well as special birthday and anniversary surprises. Throughout the day, a lively Magic Squad dressed in shimmering outfits logo will appear across the resort with surprise interactions.

My Magic Star

Keep the celebration going before, during and after your visit through a digital experience called “My Magic Star”. Create a personalized star, draw daily magical cards, interact with new digital entertainment, unlock special in-park experiences, and share memories with themed templates and effects.

10^th Birthday Collectible Tickets

Starting March 20, new collectible park tickets will feature 30 Disney characters. Each ticket will include a puzzle piece that forms a complete set over multiple visits and a section of a Shanghai Disneyland landmark that can be used to take creative photos across the resort.

Disneytown and Resort Hotels

Disneytown will also join the festivities with seasonal twists, markets, crafts, and walking tours beginning this spring. At the resort hotels, enjoy in-room birthday surprises and a hidden “10” discovery tour.

Disney Princesses Bring a Day of Royal Magic to Young Patients at AdventHealth

Disney and Starlight Bring a Princess Celebration to AdventHealth for Children

A little tower of sunshine arrived at AdventHealth for Children this week as Disney teamed up with Starlight Children’s Foundation to host a royal celebration for young patients. The surprise guest? None other than Rapunzel, who traded her tower for hospital hallways and filled the day with lanterns, laughter, and plenty of heart.

The event was part of a long running partnership between Disney and Starlight that brings Disney themed Starlight Hospital Gowns, toy deliveries, and character visits to children facing serious medical challenges. Patients were gifted princess inspired hospital gowns designed to help kids feel brave and empowered during treatment. From decorating lanterns to sharing stories about Pascal, Maximus, and Flynn, Rapunzel helped transform ordinary treatment rooms into something that felt straight out of a fairytale.

One particularly touching moment came from four-year-old Azalea Marbury, who is currently undergoing treatment for B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her family is part of the Starlight Families community, and her parents will soon run for Team Starlight during the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World. For them, this celebration was a beautiful full circle reminder that even in difficult seasons, joy still finds a way to bloom.

For 25 years, Disney and Starlight have worked together to bring comfort and imagination into hospitals across the country. At AdventHealth for Children, that mission came to life in the simplest and most powerful way possible, by letting kids be kids. In a place focused on healing, Rapunzel’s visit proved that courage can wear a hospital gown, hope can glow like a lantern, and sometimes the best medicine is a little magic.
