Have MagicBands Delivered to Your Resort with the Shop Disney Parks App

MagicBands delivered

There are so many wonderful little advantages to the Shop Disney Parks App, that are often over looked. For instance you can have MagicBands delivered (among other things) directly to the resort you are staying at! That’s such a handy convenience that’s really over looked.

Have MagicBands Delivered to Your Resort with the Shop Disney Parks App

If you have a valid resort reservation, you can have select items delivered at no extra cost. This is wonderful for moments when you wish you would have grabbed something you really wanted, but decided against it. Instead of having to go all the way back to the park, or store you saw it, you can simply have it sent to the gift shop at your resort for pick up. I love this for MagicBands because some are only at specific parks, like the Avatar ones. If you want your Avatar band to wear the day of your Animal Kingdom visit, you can order it ahead so you’ve already got it on your wrist and ready to fly.

Do you like the idea of being able to have must-have Disney merchandise and MagicBands delivered to your Disney Resort?

Add Disney Magic to The Holidays with a Disney Christmas Wreath

Disney Christmas Wreath

If you’re looking to add a little extra Disney magic to your holiday decor, a Disney Christmas Wreath is always a great choice! This wreath from Whimsy Wreath Designs on Etsy, is a fabulous mix of traditional Christmas colors, whimsical patterns, and Disney!

This Christmas wreath features Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus. The wreath is made with red deco mesh and is adorned with ribbons in red, green, and black. The Mickey and Minnie plush dolls are the 2017 Christmas plush from the Disney parks. I love the accent ribbons of polka-dots, stripes, and plaids, they really add a stylish flair.

You can get your own Disney Christmas Wreath from Whimsy Wreath Designs here.

Take Disney Everywhere with the Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car Seat

Mickey Mouse Car Seat

Recently I’ve been looking for a backup car seat, and wanted to see what Disney options were out there. I found this really cool Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car SeatTake Disney Everywhere with the Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car SeatTake Disney Everywhere with the Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car Seat, and wow have car seat styles changed! The Minnie style seat for girls is also cute!

This seat looks awesome, it’s just like your child is sitting with Mickey! It also has an extended use 5-point harness, and transitions to a booster. The company’s tag line is all about a car seat kids WANT to stay in. I know as my guy is getting older he’s wanting to be in the car seat less and less. I really love the aesthetic of these seats, and think it’s fun for our littles who are growing up. I’m not a car seat expert, so I can not attest to it’s ratings, but it does have good reviews, and seems like a comfortable seat. I’ve included the company’s info about the seat just in case.

From the Company:

KidsEmbrace Friendship Series car seats meet or exceed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS 213), and boast a BEST BET Booster rating from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). They are side-impact tested for superior protection, and feature an energy-absorbing harness system (patent pending). They are approved for forward-facing use with the 5-point system for children 22-65 lbs. and 29″-49″ in height, and, with the harness removed, as a belt-positioning booster for kids 30-100 lbs., and 38″-57″ in height. Features include easy-to-install and use LATCH with connectors and top tether, 2-position crotch belt to allow for growth, 3-position adjustable headrest, one-hand harness adjusting system, comfortable contour, 2-position recline, 2 cup holders, and a machine-washable (gentle cycle) seat pad. They are certified for use in aircraft when used as directed with the 5-point harness. All KidsEmbrace car seats come with a One-Year Limited Warranty.

There is more than just the Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car SeatTake Disney Everywhere with the Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car Seat, there is also a Minnie MouseTake Disney Everywhere with the Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car Seat, and CinderellaTake Disney Everywhere with the Kids Embrace Mickey Mouse Car Seat version too! I do think these look like a much better quality seat than the usual licensed ones you find at the big box stores though. Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival Celebrates 25 Years from February 28 - May 28, 2018

Next Spring is shaping up to be a banner year for the Flower & Garden Festival as Epcot prepares to celebrate 25 years of amazing seminars, breathtaking topiaries, top-notch entertainment and of course delicious cuisine.  The festival will run from February 28 until May 28, 2018, making it the perfect springtime pursuit.

The 2018 festival also falls during the 35th Anniversary of Epcot and will showcase millions of brilliant flowers, 15 Outdoor Kitchens, topiaries, interactive play gardens for the kids and life chart-topping concerts during the Garden Rocks Concert Series.

Highlights of the 90-day Festival include:

  • 15 Outdoor Kitchens at the World Showcase where guests can sip and savor their way around Epcot
  • Disney character topiaries including classic favorites like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Belle and Beast as well as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Anna and Elsa.
  • A brand new Future World interactive play garden and a “Road to Florida 500” Cars-themed garden featuring games and challenges. These areas will include a play maze, sensory garden, activity zone and a covered play area.  The Cars-themed garden has been re-designed and will be based on the sequel Cars 3 which will add even more opportunities for fun including highway bingo.
  • The festival will also feature a brand-new Epcot topiary garden located at the front entrance which will be used to celebrate the milestone anniversary with topiary icons like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy.
  • The Garden Rocks Concert Series will be back with hitmakers from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s on the American Gardens Theatre Stage.  Three evening concerts will run Friday- Monday.
  • Garden Rocks Dining Packages will also be available this year for guests looking for a bit of the VIP treatment.

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival Celebrates 25 Years from February 28 - May 28, 2018

Let’s talk food! – Each of the Outdoor Kitchens at this year’s festival will feature its own raised-bed or in-ground garden of herbs and produce where guests can learn more about growing what they eat.  Eric Darden, festival horticulture manager had this to say about this exciting new addition: “The culture of growing your own food continues to trend and our guests each year have quite a few questions related to edible gardens. They get a big kick comparing items in our gardens with the herbs and produce our chefs incorporate into the festival’s Outdoor Kitchen recipes.”

Figment

A few other highlights of the upcoming Festival worthy of mention are:

  • The much-loved Figment topiary garden between Future World and World Showcase will be back by popular demand.
  • The Royal Tea Garden Tour is returning for a second year to the United Kingdom pavilion.  For a small fee, guests can follow a guide through the tranquil tea garden setting to learn more about the artistry behind growing and blending tea. The tour also incldes a treat of tea and scones. There will also be a shorter English Tea Garden Tour that will run on select days.
  • Dozens of Disney crafted “flower towers” and beds of multi-colored blooms will magically transform the theme park.  Over 70,000 bedding plants will surround the Future World east and west lakes alone: on the water 220  mini-gardens will be set afloat.

Target GiftCard Sale Means You Could Save 10% on Disney Gift Cards

Disney eGift

Saving money on Disney Gift Cards is the best! Especially since a Disney Gift Card can be used to pay for almost any part of a Disney vacation (with the few exceptions of vendors inside the park that only accept cash).  Not to mentioned they can also be used at The Disney Store for awesome merchandise.

On December 3rd, rumor has it, you’ll be able to save 10% thanks to a sale at Target.

Now the sale isn’t for Disney Gift Cards, it’s for Target GiftCards – 10% Target GiftCards in stores and online for one day (12/3) only – but that doesn’t mean you’re out of luck.

According to Target’s Facebook page, Target GiftCards can be used to purchase other “entertainment cards” including Disney Gift Cards.  But you must make those purchases in-store only!  Many fans have told us you cannot purchase a Disney Gift Cards online using a Target GiftCard.

And remember, you can always say 5% on Disney Gift Cards at Target using your Target Red Card – it’s my favorite way to save on a Disney vacation!

It Looks Like Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Is Leaving Theaters Next Week

It Looks Like Olaf's Frozen Adventure Is Leaving Theaters Next Week

It’s been a few weeks since Disney released Olaf’s Frozen Adventure and the anger fans have over this 22-minute short accompanying the recently released Coco has not calmed down.

And it’s looking like Disney has gotten the message, loud and clear. There are now reports that this short will be removed from the theaters on December 8th. It is also being reported that Disney has requested that the theaters use the time that will be freed up for extra screenings of Coco.

The biggest issue movie-goers have with this short seems to be the length.  It is the longest short to ever accompany a Pixar movie.  With previews and ads Coco isn’t actually starting until about 40 minutes after the advertised time.  As many parents of younger children will tell you – adding 40 minutes to a movie that is already almost 2 hours long can be a recipe for disaster.

On top of length, others have accused Disney of using this short to shamelessly self-promote Frozen 2, which is set to be released in November of 2019.  While we would normally be treated to a 10-minute or so Pixar short, viewers are angry that they are seeing an unrelated and unconnected film before the main screening of Coco.

Disney has yet to comment on the remove of Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, although the original press release did state that the short was to accompany Coco for a “limited time.”  While we may never know the reason for the removal, if you want to catch it in theaters you only have a few days left.

Disney Files Lawsuit Against Redbox for Illegal Sale of Digital Codes

Disney Files Lawsuit Against Redbox for Illegal Sale of Digital Codes

Disney has filed a lawsuit against Redbox for the illegal sale of digital codes for Disney movie downloads.

In October, Redbox launched a service that allows customers to purchase digital codes for Disney movies.  The codes are printed from the kiosks, along with instructions on how to download or stream the movies to various devices from Disney’s services or affiliated sites.

According to Disney, Redbox is purchasing DVD/Blue Ray Combo Packs, which include digital downloads.  They are then repackaging those digital movies and selling them.  Disney noted that the packaging on the Combo Packs include the notice that “Codes are not for sale or transfer.”

The lawsuit, which was filed Thursday in  federal district court in Los Angeles, alleges copyright infringement and seeks an injunction on Redbox’s sale of its movies. Disney is seeking damages of up to $150,000 per title sold as well as any monies Redbox made from the sale of the codes.

Current titles available for purchase from Redbox include“Cars 3”, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”,  “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”, and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”.  These titles range in price from $14.99 to $4.99.

The news of this lawsuit was first reported by the Wall Street Journal. In a statement issued by Disney they said, “Redbox is selling our digital movie codes in blatant disregard of clear prohibitions against doing so. Their actions violate our contracts and copyrights, and we have filed this action to stop Redbox’s unauthorized conduct.”

In response, a Redbox spokeswoman said, “While we don’t comment on pending litigation, we feel very confident in our pro-consumer position.”

The case number for the suit Disey filed against Redbox is 2:17-cv-08655.  The suit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division, in Los Angeles.
