Set sail for some updates! Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, the charming seaside-style retreat nestled along Crescent Lake, will be undergoing a wave of routine refurbishments starting this summer—and while the ambiance may get a slight facelift, the magic will stay anchored.

According to Disney’s official website, routine exterior maintenance will begin in early July 2025 and is expected to run through October 2025. This will include work around the porte cochere areas, which will be temporarily closed. While that grand nautical arrival moment might look a little different, guests can rest easy knowing that valet, luggage assistance, and all transportation options will still be available throughout the work.

Here’s what you need to know:

Construction Schedule: Work will take place during daytime hours only, and Disney promises to keep disruptions to a minimum.
Exterior Maintenance: Expect visible scaffolding or equipment as the resort gets a bit of a touch-up.
Amenities Still Shipshape: Most amenities and services will remain open during the refurbishment—so don’t worry, your vacation won’t be adrift!

Mark Hamill Not Returning for Upcoming New Star Wars Movie

“I Had My Time”: Mark Hamill Confirms He Won’t Return as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: New Jedi Order

Don’t expect to see Luke Skywalker donning the Jedi robes (or ditching them, for that matter) in Star Wars: New Jedi Order. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Star Wars legend Mark Hamill made it clear: his journey with the Force has come to an end — robes, ghostly glow, and all.

During a press stop for his upcoming film The Life of Chuck (in select theaters June 6, nationwide June 13), Hamill was asked about returning as Luke’s Force ghost in the upcoming Star Wars sequel starring Daisy Ridley’s Rey. His reaction? Priceless — and telling.

“In what?” he responded, visibly surprised to learn that New Jedi Order is even happening.

Once he caught up, Hamill elaborated on why he’s stepping away from the galaxy far, far away:

“I am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the humble days, when George called it Star Wars, the most expensive low-budget movie ever made… I never expected it to become a permanent franchise or a part of pop culture like it has. But my view is: I had my time. I’m appreciative of that. But I really think they should focus on the future and the new characters.”

And in true Hamill fashion, he capped it off with a bit of Force-fueled humor:

“By the way, when I disappeared, I left my robes behind. There’s no way I’m going to appear as a naked ghost — I’m just letting you know that right now.”

Whether that’s tongue-in-cheek or Jedi gospel remains to be seen.

Jedi Secrets or Misdirection?

With New Jedi Order set to release on December 17, 2027, fan speculation is already swirling like a Naboo storm. Could Hamill be playing coy to preserve the impact of a surprise cameo? Maybe. But the fact that he didn’t even know the movie was in development suggests otherwise. If Lucasfilm had any serious plans for Luke’s return, Hamill would likely have at least been briefed by now.

Of course, stranger things have happened in the Star Wars universe. We’ve seen Force ghosts drop pearls of wisdom from beyond, so it’s not entirely out of the question that Luke could still “appear” in some form — even if it’s just a voice or vision.

Rey’s Turn to Lead

With Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey and the franchise moving into a new era of storytelling, New Jedi Order appears to be all about looking forward — not back. Ridley has spoken about taking on a mentor role in the film, guiding a new generation of Jedi. That arc mirrors Luke’s own journey in the original trilogy, and passing the lightsaber (figuratively and literally) seems like a fitting evolution for Rey’s character.

Final Thoughts

Whether or not Hamill is truly done with the role of Luke Skywalker remains to be seen — and in the Star Wars universe, never say never. But for now, it looks like the Jedi Master is officially retiring his ghost duties. One thing’s for sure: even if Luke doesn’t show up in New Jedi Order, his legacy will loom large over the next chapter in the Force.

Grab your flashlights and check the security cams — Freddy and the gang are clocking in for graveyard shifts this fall! Universal has officially confirmed that Five Nights at Freddy’s will be coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood, and fans of the frightfully popular video game and movie franchise are already losing their circuits.

The announcement dropped via the official @HorrorNightsORL X account, accompanied by a short (but spine-tingling) teaser video with just enough static and flickering lights to trigger traumatic memories of checking hallway cams for jump scares. The post simply states:

“Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming in a whole new way to this year’s Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in both Hollywood and Orlando. More details coming soon…”

This reveal follows last week’s cryptic teaser — a static-filled video clip that savvy fans immediately connected to the FNaF universe. The flickering screen and VHS vibes echoed the security camera footage central to the Five Nights at Freddy’s games and movies. Consider the mystery solved: we’re going back to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza… and it’s going to be a scream.

While Universal hasn’t officially said whether FNaF will manifest as a haunted house, a scare zone, or perhaps even both, the wording “in a whole new way” has fans wondering if something even more ambitious is in store. Could we be looking at an interactive queue? A hybrid experience? Maybe even a real-life Fazbear’s Pizza façade? Whatever it is — we’re here for the chaos.

The announcement comes on the heels of a Blumhouse panel at the CCXP event in Mexico this past weekend, in which Blumhouse announced a FNAF house is coming to both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. If true, this would make FNAF the first house announcement of the 2025 season, and is certain to generate a ton of buzz ahead of tickets going on sale (which we are expecting this week).

This isn’t Freddy’s first appearance at Universal, either. In 2024, Five Nights at Freddy’s had a presence at CityWalk Orlando as part of the Blumhouse photo-op experience. With Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 set to hit theaters on December 5, 2025, the timing of this HHN tie-in couldn’t be better. The first film, released in October 2023, was a massive hit, proving that Freddy and friends are still very much the kings of animatronic anxiety.

So, what does Universal have up its sleeve this time? As always with HHN announcements, speculation will run wild until we get more details. One thing’s for sure: when it comes to screams, Five Nights at Freddy’s doesn’t play around. And neither does Universal.

The loss of this zany, heartfelt, and unapologetically weird corner of Hollywood Studios is going to leave a Kermit-shaped hole in the park. Thankfully we are not completely saying goodbye to the Muppets, as they will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.

That means Monstropolis has to be an absolute knockout. It can’t just be good — it needs to be scream-worthy. The Muppets may have been a niche fandom, but their presence added much-needed levity and character to the park’s lineup. Now, it’s up to Mike and Sulley to bring the same level of charm, humor, and repeat-visit appeal.

So whether you’re a die-hard Muppet maniac or just want one more taste of rat-run pizza, this is your week to soak in all the nostalgic glory. Come next week, we’re trading felt for fur and jokes for screams (or laughs).
