“Disney Junior Dream Factory” Stage Show Returning to Disneyland Paris in Early 2026

Hold onto your mouse ears, folks—a whole new world may be coming to Walt Disney World Resort! A recently revealed update to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District’s (CFTOD) Comprehensive Plan hints that a fifth major theme park could be in the cards for The Most Magical Place on Earth.
While nothing official has been announced by Disney, the 2045 Comprehensive Plan—a collaborative document between the CFTOD and Disney—lays the groundwork for big growth, including the possibility of one major new theme park and up to two minor parks between now and 2045.
The Blueprint for the Future

The plan allows for the development of 1 major theme park (on up to 550 acres) and 2 minor parks (each on roughly 150 acres).
The document states this is a development threshold, meaning the infrastructure and land capacity are being reserved, just in case.

Still, if Disney decides to expand, the path has been cleared. This marks a shift from the 2020 plan, updating growth expectations in light of rebounding tourism, increased hotel capacity, and rising theme park attendance. Universal has just opened Epic Universe, proving it is possible to add an additional gate in the modern theme park era.
Rapid redevelopment within the resort including expansions like Villains Land, a Cars-themed Frontierland overlay, and the Tropical Americas project at Animal Kingdom.

According to the info that accompanied the plan, the latest Comprehensive Plan is an update to the 2020 plan that fulfills statutory requirements to regularly update these plans (at least once every 7 years) to “reflect changes to State Statutes and/or local conditions.” It is also important to note that in addition to the Walt Disney World Resort, the Comprehensive Plan also covers the City of Lake Buena Vista and the City of Bay Lake.

Friendship Boat Transportation Returns to EPCOT’s World Showcase
Good news for EPCOT visitors! The Friendship Boat Transportation has made a welcome return to World Showcase, offering a convenient and scenic way to travel between the Canada and Germany pavilions. This re-established route includes an alternate path, bringing back a popular mode of transport that has seen several changes over the years.
EPCOT’s World Showcase Lagoon features four docks, known as Friendship Launches. Historically, these boats offered broader connectivity, allowing guests to travel from Canada to Morocco on the west side, or from Mexico to Germany on the east. However, the Mexico and Germany launches saw infrequent use after the summer of 2016. This was largely due to frequent closures necessitated by the “Illuminations” nighttime spectacular, ultimately leading Disney to discontinue the route.
Last year, there was a brief glimmer of hope when the Germany Pavilion Friendship Boat Launch reopened, coinciding with the temporary closure of the Morocco Pavilion dock for refurbishment. Unfortunately, the Germany launch closed again just weeks later.
Now, however, the Germany location is operational once more, running on an alternate route directly to and from Canada. Guests boarding a Friendship Boat in Germany will now travel past the currently closed Morocco Pavilion launch before continuing on to Canada.
Conversely, those departing from the Canada boat launch, which has remained open with varying destinations depending on refurbishment schedules, will now be taken past the Italy and America pavilions, eventually arriving back at the Germany launch.

Parking Gets Tighter at Disney’s Polynesian Resort
Heads up, Disney fans! If you’re planning a visit to Disney’s Polynesian Resort, be prepared for some significant changes to parking access. Effective immediately and until further notice, only guests with a resort reservation at the Polynesian or a confirmed dining reservation will be granted entry to the main parking lot. There are no exceptions to this new rule.
This “hard close” is a direct result of extensive construction currently underway to relocate the main entrance. For the first time in its history, the way guests enter the resort will be permanently altered.
Disney has updated its website with the following disclaimer:
“From May 2025 through 2026, some areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished. This work includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway and bus area. While construction activity will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions. All Resort dining, pools and amenities will remain available. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted. Please allow for extra travel time when arriving at or leaving the Resort.”
