SeaWorld Orlando’s spine-chilling Halloween event, Howl-O-Scream, is set to return for its fifth year, unleashing a more intense and immersive experience than ever before. This year’s event promises a nightmarish adventure where fear comes to life at every turn, from sinister streets to cursed creations.

For 2025, Howl-O-Scream is boasting five haunted houses, including three all-new terrifying experiences, along with six scare zones, with four fresh themes designed to make you jump. San Francisco Welcomes Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Hot Air Balloon

Just days before the Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary, a special themed hot air balloon has been touring across the U.S.A., recently making a stop in San Francisco.

While Disneyland’s official birthday is July 17, a special hot air balloon recently visited San Francisco for an early celebration. This unique balloon showcases the “70 Disneyland” anniversary logo along with the event’s distinct colors. Beyond the prominent, diamond-shaped celebration logo, it also features a charming pattern of Mickey’s face, echoing the art style found in some of the park’s own decorations.

ABC7 News was on hand to cover the event, with reporter Gloria Rodríguez meeting Mickey and Minnie in their 70th-anniversary attire and even getting a peek inside the impressive 75-foot-tall hot air balloon. According to Megan Roth of Disneyland Resort, the handmade balloon is large enough to fit over 90,000 basketballs! Goofy and Donald also joined the celebration, sporting their own 70th-anniversary outfits.

PortMiami Begins Demolition for New Royal Caribbean Terminal

For new innovations to rise, old structures often must fall. This is certainly the case at PortMiami, the world’s busiest cruise terminal, where demolition is now underway to make way for a new, state-of-the-art Royal Caribbean terminal.

The initial phase of the project, which began on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, involves the demolition and removal of the existing Terminal G. Situated as the westernmost cruise terminal along the main channel, just before ships enter the primary turning basin, Terminal G was originally finished in 1999. Though it’s seen updates over the years, its facilities are no longer equipped to handle the technological demands of today’s larger, more modern vessels.

If you’re familiar with PortMiami, Terminal G is the one directly adjacent to the Virgin Voyages terminal that’s set perpendicular to the main channel. This terminal is now being demolished to clear the way for a new, updated, and multi-functional terminal. This joint venture between NV2A and Lemartec is largely expected to be completed by 2027. While designed as a single-berth terminal, it will have the impressive capacity to process up to 7,000 passengers, meaning it’ll be fully capable of handling Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class vessels, including Icon of the Seas, the new Star of the Seas, and the upcoming Legend of the Seas.

Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, also part of the Royal Caribbean Group, will utilize the new Terminal G as needed. This multi-level design will separate passengers on different floors, which should significantly reduce congestion and allow for simultaneous embarkation and debarkation, ultimately improving efficiency and minimizing wait times. This innovative layout will also streamline processing for crew members and other services, enabling them to move on and off a ship even while guests are in the terminal.

Crucially, the new terminal’s design aims for LEED Silver certification, highlighting its commitment to sustainability in both construction and operation. The project also encompasses various supporting structures, including a multi-story parking garage, designated passenger drop-off zones, and bus parking. These additions are all part of a comprehensive plan to enhance traffic flow throughout the entire terminal area.

While the new terminal’s functionality is paramount, its thoughtful architecture and impact on the PortMiami skyline are equally crucial. The design will feature graceful lines and iconic Royal Caribbean blue, complemented by serene, aquatic hues inside. This aesthetic aims to emphasize the connection between the city and the sea, ensuring guests feel immersed in their upcoming ocean getaway even before boarding.

Vice President JD Vance has been observed at Disneyland Resort this weekend, a visit that necessitated heightened security measures and attracted a number of protests.

Guests at the popular theme park noted an increased presence of security personnel and Secret Service agents, a standard procedure for high-profile visits. Despite the additional security, park operations largely continued as usual, with families and visitors enjoying the various attractions and entertainment offerings.

It looks like even more prehistoric pals are preparing to go extinct. Disney has just filed three new construction permits tied to the next phase of the transformation from DinoLand U.S.A. into the all-new Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and this time, they’re targeting locations that are still open to guests.

New Permits, New Targets

The permits filed on July 10 list only “General Construction” as their purpose; and while that’s not much to go on, the addresses attached to the paperwork tell the real story:

676 DinoLand Drive: Trilo-Bites snack stand
671 DinoLand Drive: The Boneyard play area
672 DinoLand Drive: Wilderness Explorer kiosk

Now here’s where it gets juicy (like a fresh churro from Trilo-Bites). Unlike past permits, which focused on areas that had already closed, like Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama and Fossil Fun Games, this new batch covers spots that are still operational. In fact, the only one officially scheduled to close is The Boneyard, which will have its last day of play on September 1, 2025.

As for Trilo-Bites and the Wilderness Explorer kiosk? No closing dates have been announced… yet. But with permits in place, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before the winds of change (and bulldozers) come rolling in.

What’s Staying & What’s Going

Let’s get our dino facts straight. The closure of DinoLand is happening in phases. So far, here’s what’s closed or closing:

While Disney has yet to unveil a full lineup of experiences, it’s clear they’re moving full steam ahead on this massive transformation — one permit at a time.
