Heads up, fellow Disney travelers! If you’re planning a stay or simply passing by Walt Disney World’s beautiful Beach Club Resort, you’ve likely noticed the flurry of activity. Construction is currently underway in both the front and back areas of the resort, making the traffic pattern a little bit hectic. So, definitely plan a little extra time if you’re coming or going!

This ongoing work is part of a significant exterior maintenance project at the Beach Club, scheduled to continue through September 2025. One of the most noticeable impacts for guests right now is the temporary closure of the porte cochere, the covered entrance area used for guest drop-off and pickup. Signage is in place to guide guests to temporary relocated areas for valet, luggage assistance, and transportation services, which remain fully available.

While Disney aims to minimize disruptions, guests may notice construction activity and noise during daytime hours. This extensive exterior refurbishment likely includes repairs or rebuilding of building exteriors, painting, and general building maintenance, ensuring the resort remains in top condition for years to come. Scrims and construction barriers are in place to block some of the work from view, but some visible work and adjusted foot traffic routes are unavoidable.

Stormalong Bay’s Recent Transformation

It’s also worth noting that this exterior work at the Beach Club follows closely behind a major refurbishment of Stormalong Bay, the resort’s expansive and popular shared pool complex with Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This multi-month project, which began in January 2025, involved draining and resurfacing the pools, with significant work done on the pump system. The good news is that Stormalong Bay, including the Shipwreck Pool and Flying Jib Slide, is expected to be fully reopened by July 2025, just in time for the summer crowds to enjoy its refreshed features. While some seating areas around the pool deck may still be undergoing finishing touches, the core of this beloved water park is back!

Despite the ongoing construction, Disney assures guests that the vast majority of resort amenities, including dining, shopping, and check-in, will continue to be offered. The aim is to enhance the guest experience in the long run by refreshing the property.

Abominable Snowman Sipper Glows Its Way into Disneyland Resort

The Abominable Snowman has made his grand debut at Disneyland, just in time for the 70th Celebration! You can find this special Abominable Snowman Sipper at various spots throughout Disneyland Park.

This sculpted plastic sipper brings Harold, the infamous Abominable Snowman, to life! He stands on an icy blue base, captured mid-growl with one claw raised. Harold’s body is covered in white fur, contrasted by the dark blue of his face and hands. His piercing, blood-red eyes add to his formidable appearance. A straw conveniently pops out of the back of his head, and a strap attaches to his shoulders for easy carrying. For an extra thrill, flip the switch on the bottom, and pulling Harold’s arm will activate a growling sound effect and make his eyes glow!

The sipper comes with a blue strap featuring designs inspired by Matterhorn Bobsleds. You’ll spot ski poles, crystals, and a “Wells Expedition” sign, which is a nod to Frank Wells. The Disneyland Resort wordmark is also displayed in yellow on the strap.

You may also choose to immerse yourself in the magic of the season through attraction overlays, like the whimsical winter makeover of “it’s a small world” Holiday and the merrily macabre Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Disney Festival of Holidays returns to Disney California Adventure park Nov. 14, 2025, through Jan. 7, 2026. This festival is bursting with color, culture and cheer — showcasing a diverse season of celebrations through delicious food, a daily rotation of live entertainment and unique merchandise.

The streets of Disney California Adventure park come alive with a blend of joyful music, dancing and cultural performances. You may spot a group of Holiday Toy Drummers marching to merry rhythms or the “Mickey’s Happy Holidays” cavalcade featuring both Disney and Pixar characters.

Also on select days, Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” and her friends recount stories and perform hit songs from the film in the street performance, “Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season.” Mirabel is also among the characters rotating at the Paradise Gardens Park gazebo, sharing holiday greetings and posing for photo opportunities.

On select days at Carthay Circle on Buena Vista Street, keep an eye out for “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!” as they perform bilingual renditions of favorite holiday songs. Toward the end, you may spot Miguel from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco.”

Celebrate Culture and Familia at Disney ¡Viva Navidad!

Head to Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure for the return of Disney ¡Viva Navidad!, a heartwarming celebration inspired by Latin American holiday traditions — with a spirited Disney twist! Delight in live music, crafts, festive décor, flavorful dishes and appearances by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and The Three Caballeros.

On select days, the “Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party” lights up the area with folklórico dancers, mariachis, samba performers and more, led by The Three Caballeros in a vibrant display of rhythm and color.

Select entertainment from the 70^th Celebrationwill continue during the holiday season, so you’ll still be able to enjoy the “World of Color Happiness!” nighttime spectacular and “Tapestry of Happiness” projections. “Paint the Night” parade and other entertainment experiences will pause temporarily during the holiday season and resume at a later date.

Areas and attractions around the resort will retain special touches, including decorative accents and the colorful castle photo opportunity in the esplanade. Interactive MagicBand+ locations and the Key to Disneyland lock stations will remain available through the season.
