Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Lobby Refurbishment Scheduled for This Fall
Laissez les bon temps rouler, with a little construction on the side! Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will soon see some updates to its lobby, as refurbishment work is set to take place later this year.
According to Disney, the project will run from August 26 through the end of September 2025. During that time, the lobby will remain open, but guests may notice construction activity and hear some noise during daytime hours. Importantly, all amenities, including check-in, dining, and resort services, will still be available throughout the refurbishment.
This announcement comes not long after Disney extended the Magnolia Bend room refurbishments at sister property Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, which will now continue through February 2026. French Quarter guests, however, can rest easy knowing that over 1,000 of the resort’s guest rooms already received a refresh earlier this year.
Port Orleans – French Quarter has had a lively summer, from a truck accident briefly breaking one of the resort’s bridges in July to this newly announced lobby makeover. Still, the resort continues to charm guests with its New Orleans–inspired theming, popular beignets at Scat Cat’s Club Café, and easy boat access to Disney Springs.
Disney’s Yacht Club & Beach Club Exterior Refurbishments Now Stretching Into 2027
If you’re planning a stay at Disney’s Yacht Club or Beach Club Resorts, get ready for a little extra pixie dust in the form of scaffolding. Disney has officially extended exterior refurbishment timelines for both deluxe resorts, meaning work will continue much longer than originally expected.
Originally scheduled to wrap up in October 2025, Disney now says the Yacht Club’s exterior maintenance will last until late 2026, while the Beach Club’s updates will stretch all the way through 2027.
According to Disney, both resorts are undergoing routine exterior maintenance, which includes work around the porte cochere entrances. At the Yacht Club, the porte cochere will remain closed through October 2025, while the Beach Club’s will stay closed through September 2025. Guests can expect some alternate walking paths and occasional daytime construction noise. Views from certain rooms may also be impacted during the refurbishment.
The good news? Disney promises that resort services will remain fully operational. That means valet, luggage assistance, transportation, dining, and—most importantly—all pools will stay open. Stormalong Bay, the sprawling water playground shared by the two resorts, already reopened earlier this summer following its own refurbishment.
Team Members can now use comp tickets to enter Epic Universe
Epic news for Universal Orlando’s hardworking crew! As of August 16, Team Members can now use their complimentary tickets to experience the dazzling new Epic Universe theme park.
For the first time since the park’s grand opening back in May, Team Members no longer need to purchase a separate one-day ticket just to step inside the resort’s newest addition. They can now redeem up to two comp tickets per month for Epic Universe entry.
This perk comes after months of anticipation. Team Members originally got a sneak peek at Epic Universe during special previews between March 17 and April 5, ahead of the May 22 grand opening. Those previews caused a bit of a stir when some employees reportedly brought along influencers and vloggers under the “family member” label, leading to early content leaks before media coverage was officially allowed.
For now, the comp ticket benefit gives employees a chance to enjoy the park and its five immersive worlds without dipping into their own wallets. Guests outside the company, however, will still need to buy a separate admission if they want to visit.
Looking further ahead, things are set to shift in 2026. Epic Universe is expected to be included in park-to-park tickets, meaning guests will finally be able to hop between Epic Universe and Universal’s other Orlando parks in the same day. Annual Passholders are also likely to see Epic Universe folded into pass options sometime in 2026, potentially as an upgrade for existing passes. With current Passholder perks listed through December 31, 2025, many fans suspect that’s when the new system will roll out.
