If you were planning to soar above the parks this week, the Disney Skyliner has officially pulled into the station for a quick tune-up. The aerial gondola system at Walt Disney World Resort is currently closed for a brief refurbishment, with service paused through January 31, 2026.

This closure is part of routine maintenance, and during the downtime, guests are being directed to use Disney’s complimentary bus transportation to get between resorts and parks. Disney has also already confirmed a similar planned refurbishment for next year, scheduled from January 24 through January 30, 2027, so this weeklong pause is very much a normal part of Skyliner operations.

Since opening in 2019, the Disney Skyliner has become a fan-favorite way to travel, linking EPCOT’s International Gateway and Disney’s Hollywood Studios with Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Riviera Resort. The system features five stations and more than 250 colorful gondola cabins, each capable of holding up to 10 guests or six guests with an open wheelchair or ECV. It is also a bit of a transportation unicorn, as the only gondola system in North America with separate stationary loading and unloading platforms at most stations.

The Taylor Swift mania has officially exited stage left at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as the limited-time Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour costume exhibit has been removed from the Walt Disney Presents gallery. As of January 24, 2026, the display featuring three authentic costumes worn by Swift during her record-breaking Eras Tour has been dismantled, clearing the way for the museum space to return to its more traditional park-history roots.

The exhibit originally debuted in mid-December 2025 and quickly became a must-see stop for Swifties visiting the park, offering an up-close look at outfits representing the Reputation, The Tortured Poets Department, and Midnights eras, each packed with intricate design details straight from the tour stage. The temporary installation was timed to coincide with the release of The End of an Era documentary series on Disney+, making its run intentionally short but highly buzzworthy.

With the costumes now gone, guests walking through Walt Disney Presents will once again find familiar displays highlighting Disney park icons, including concept models of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth set against a Tree of Life backdrop. The following display case remains unchanged, continuing to showcase a scale model of the upcoming Tropical Americas area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom along with concept materials tied to the future Monsters, Inc. expansion planned for Hollywood Studios.

Universal Orlando Resort has officially shared the first real-world look at its upcoming specialty Florida license plate benefiting Give Kids the World, and it looks pretty stellar. The plate features deep, spacey shades of blue sprinkled with star-like flecks, paired with clean white lettering and the unmistakable Universal globe front and center. While the plate was announced last year with early concept art, this marks the first time we are seeing the finished design that will soon be hitting Florida roadways.

This plate also marks a meaningful milestone for Universal, as it is the resort’s first-ever specialty license plate collaboration with Give Kids the World, the beloved nonprofit that provides cost-free wish vacations for children with critical illnesses and their families. Every plate purchased helps support the village’s mission of creating unforgettable experiences for families during some of their most challenging times.

A Closer Look at Animation Courtyard Construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Construction continues to quietly reshape Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and a new temporary structure is now part of the evolving scene. A plain wooden structure has gone up just outside the Disney Jr. soundstage, an area that is slated to debut a brand-new show later this summer. The structure sits directly in front of the large theater doors, which may eventually serve as the new entrance once the space reopens, and it is currently covered with a protective plastic sheet.

Based on its unfinished appearance and the fact that it does not appear in any previously released concept art, this structure appears to be temporary in nature. It may simply be in place to protect crew members and equipment while work continues, especially during rainy weather. Around the same area, crews have removed signage and decorative elements from the former entrance, further reinforcing that this portion of Animation Courtyard is being reworked from the ground up.

Elsewhere in the courtyard, visual updates continue as well. A wall on The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure soundstage is being repainted to better match the rest of the refreshed exterior. Animation Courtyard remains closed as it is transformed into the Walt Disney Studios lot, with the full area expected to reopen this summer alongside Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and a new version of The Magic of Disney Animation.
