Cause of Death Released for Guest Who Died After Riding Stardust Racers at Epic Universe

Tragedy struck Universal Orlando’s newest theme park this week when a man was found unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers, the high-speed dual-launch roller coaster at Epic Universe. Officials have now confirmed the cause of death.

The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala died from multiple blunt impact injuries. His death has been ruled an accident.

According to Universal Orlando, Zavala became unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers on Wednesday evening. Off-duty deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a “man down” call at the park, and Zavala was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Chopper footage from WESH 2 News showed a large law enforcement presence at Epic Universe following the incident. Crime scene vans and forensic teams were seen photographing the ride vehicle in the loading area as investigators worked to piece together what happened.

Universal issued a statement expressing their grief:
“Universal is cooperating with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office following a tragic event involving a guest at Epic Universe on Wednesday night. The guest became unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers and was transported to the hospital, where the guest later died. We are devastated by this event and extend our sincerest sympathies to the guest’s loved ones. We are fully committed to cooperating with this ongoing investigation. The attraction remains closed.”

Stardust Racers, one of the signature attractions at Epic Universe since its grand opening earlier this year, remains closed while the investigation continues. Universal has not shared when the coaster might reopen.

In our recent visit to Haunted Mansion Holiday, the seasonal Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, we noticed a major upgrade to the Oogie Boogie animatronic. The new figure is at the end of the attraction, in the spot usually occupied by the Hitchhiking Ghosts.

As Imagineers explain, the old animatronic simply shifted between two positions. The new one, however, has much more fluid and realistic movements, bringing the character to life in a more convincing way.

Meet Daniel, the Disneyland Cast Member Who Spreads Happiness

Daniel’s Disney journey began with one goal: to bring happiness to others. For him, becoming a cast member was about more than just a job; it was a way to make a real difference. “I was inspired to become a cast member to bring joy and happiness to guests,” he said.

His journey started at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, where a leader first noticed his unique passion for creating magic.

Taking note from Daniel’s playful personality, they gifted him a Mickey hat, which would become the first piece of his signature look. That Mickey hat soon led to a Mickey glove and bubble wand, and with each wave and bubble, Daniel would bring smiles to guests of all ages.

One of Daniel’s most cherished memories happened one day as he was greeting guests and was approached by a mother and her daughter, who was blind.

The mother kindly asked Daniel if her daughter could touch his Mickey glove. With a warm smile, Daniel extended his hand. The moment the young girls’ fingers brushed the oversized glove; her eyes filled with joyful tears. “She knew. She knew she was at Disneyland,” Daniel shared, with tears filling his eyes.

As Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel transformed into Pixar Place Hotel, Daniel’s magic-making accessories evolved too. Embracing the spirit of Pixar, his Mickey themed gear now paid tribute to characters like Sulley and Buzz Lightyear. While his props may have changed, his purpose remained the same: to bring joy and happiness to every guest.

Daniel credits his ability to create unforgettable moments to his leaders who saw a spark in him and fostered an environment that allowed his spark to flourish through meaningful guest interactions. “They allow me to express myself, and I love them for that,” Daniel says.

“When I first met Daniel, he was so full of life and energy. He’s a wonderful example of what a cast member should be,” shared Ron Silagyi, general manager of Pixar Place Hotel.

Disneyland Resort Welcomes the 2026-2027 Disney Ambassadors

Disneyland Resort has officially announced its new Disney Ambassadors for 2026-2027: Michele Mary and Oralia Neria Felix.

Michele and Oralia were chosen from hundreds of applicants for the role, which was first established in 1965 by Walt Disney himself. He chose Julie Reihm Casaletto as the very first Disney Ambassador. Now, 60 years later, the program is a global team that represents thousands of cast members and helps bring the magic of Disney to communities all over the world.

This legacy continues as the program celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2025. Michele and Oralia were announced as the newest representatives for Disneyland Resort during a special ceremony at Disneyland park, attended by their families, friends, fellow cast members, and former Disney Ambassadors.

“The most emotional part of the day was seeing my parents’ faces when my name got called,” said Oralia. “I’m so happy that I can make them proud and know that they’ve touched every part of my journey.”

“I can’t wait to make everybody at this resort and company proud by showing off the wonderful place we call home,” said Michele.

The new Disney Ambassadors will represent thousands of cast members at Disneyland Resort. Their duties will include leading cast member events, sharing stories about Disney Cast Life, and serving as official spokespersons for the resort.

Jada Young and Raul Aquino Rojas, the current Disney Ambassadors, will officially pass the torch to the new team on January 1, 2026, after their two-year term concludes.

Hundreds Gather at Disney in Burbank to Protest ABC’s Decision to Ax Jimmy Kimmel’s Show

Hundreds of union actors and writers gathered outside of Disney’s Alameda Avenue gate to protest ABC’s decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its schedule. According to a report from Deadline, more than 300 members of both the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) participated in the last-minute demonstration in Burbank.

Protesters, many wearing blue WGAW T-shirts, marched in front of the main entrance to voice their opposition to the indefinite suspension of the late-night program. This action by the unions follows Disney’s decision to preempt the show after host Jimmy Kimmel made controversial remarks that have since gone viral.

The Controversy Behind the Suspension

The suspension was triggered by major affiliate station groups, including Nexstar, which announced it would preempt the show on its ABC affiliates. In a statement on the decision, Andrew Alford, President of Nexstar’s Broadcasting Division, said, “Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities.”

Kimmel’s remarks, which came after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, accused conservatives of reaching “new lows” by attempting to distance themselves from the suspect. “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel had said.

Celebrity Narrators for 2025 Candlelight Processional Revealed at Epcot

The beloved Candlelight Processional is set to return for the 2025 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, bringing with it a spectacular new lineup of celebrity narrators. Rip Ride Rockit Demolition Speeds Ahead at Universal Studios Florida

The sound of jackhammers and cranes has officially replaced the pounding bass of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida. Since our last update, demolition has picked up major steam, with more sections of the coaster track now gone and work pushing directly into the station itself.

Walking into the park, it’s impossible to miss the sight of heavy machinery dominating the skyline. A massive crane looms over the site, joined by a large auger drill helping to break up foundations and prepare the land for whatever thrills are coming next. The colorful coaster that once cut through the Universal Studios skyline is quickly becoming a memory, with demolition crews working at a rapid pace.

So far, Universal has kept quiet on what will replace Rip Ride Rockit. However, permits filed earlier this year point to another roller coaster being built on the site. Whether it will be a high-speed launch coaster, a family-friendly adventure, or something brand-new entirely remains a mystery.

Given how quickly demolition is progressing, it seems only a matter of time before crews shift gears from tearing down to building up. The next big thrill for Universal Studios Florida is on its way, and all eyes are on this central plot of land to see what surprises the resort has in store.

Guest Star Revealed for The Muppet Show Revival Special Coming for Disney+

The Muppets Are Back! Disney+ Announces 2026 Revival Special

It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights — The Muppets are returning to the small screen in a brand-new Disney+ revival special set for 2026.

Disney confirmed that the one-off event, simply titled The Muppet Show, will bring Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, and the whole gang back to the Muppet Theatre to put on a chaotic, heartwarming, and hilarious variety show. While this special isn’t a full series revival (at least not yet), Variety reports it could serve as a “backdoor pilot” to test the waters for a larger comeback.

The timing is no accident. The special will premiere in 2026 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jim Henson’s original The Muppet Show, which first aired in 1976 and ran until 1981. And in true Muppet fashion, they’re not coming alone — pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter has been announced as the guest star, and she’s also listed as an executive producer on the project.

The Muppets will once again be brought to life by an all-star lineup of veteran performers, including Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel. Goelz, a living legend in the Muppet world, has performed with the troupe for over 50 years and was part of the original series, originating beloved characters like Gonzo and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew.

Behind the camera, the creative team is stacked with talent. Albertina Rizzo will write and executive produce, with Alex Timbers (known for his Broadway work) directing. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee from Point Grey Pictures are also executive producers, alongside Carpenter. The special is being produced by 20th Television, Disney Branded Television, The Muppets Studio, and Point Grey.

This announcement marks the latest in Disney’s ongoing efforts to spotlight the Muppets. In recent years, fans have enjoyed Muppets Haunted Mansion (2021), Muppets Now (2020), and The Muppets Mayhem (2023) on Disney+, though some of these projects were short-lived despite positive fan response. The last theatrical Muppet movie was Muppets Most Wanted in 2014.

Walt Disney World Works with Local Nonprofits to End Hunger in Central Florida

Disney Takes Big Steps to Fight Hunger During Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month, and Walt Disney World cast members are putting real magic behind the movement to help fight food insecurity across Central Florida. For decades, Walt Disney World has supported nonprofits and community leaders with programs, grants, and volunteer power, and 2025 is no different.

One of Disney’s longest-running efforts is the Disney Harvest Program, created in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida back in 1991. The initiative collects surplus food from across Walt Disney World Resort and distributes it to local nonprofits like food pantries and shelters. Last year alone, Disney Harvest donated more than 722,000 pounds of food — the equivalent of 600,000 meals.

On top of food donations, Disney has provided major financial support. In 2024, the company donated $150,000 to Second Harvest, followed by an additional $500,000 in hurricane relief after Hurricane Milton. Cast Members also made an impact through VoluntEARS Grants and matching gifts, helping contribute an additional $115,000 last year.

The company’s reach extends even further through the Disney Grant program. This year, $300,000 of a total $500,000 in Disney Grants went directly toward hunger-related initiatives, benefiting:

Valencia College’s VCentials Pantry – Supporting over 2,500 students with free access to healthy food so they can focus on their education.
United Against Poverty – Relaunching its mobile food pantry to bring low-cost groceries to families in areas that need them most, serving over 1,200 families.
Osceola Council on Aging – Expanding emergency and mobile food pantry programs that provide nearly 14,000 nutritious meals to families of all ages.

Disney leaders say it’s about more than just food. “Access to safe, healthy and affordable food is a critical need facing the Central Florida community,” said Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Walt Disney World. “Every day we’re working alongside nonprofit organizations and are focused on supporting this important cause in ways that only Disney can.”

And the work doesn’t stop in September. In October, Disney VoluntEARS will join CANstruction Orlando, building a Disney character entirely out of canned goods before donating them to Second Harvest. Then in November, Disney chefs and Cast Members will cook and serve 1,000 Thanksgiving meals at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

From hurricane relief to food drives to everyday support, Disney continues to play a major role in tackling hunger across Florida. This Hunger Action Month, the magic isn’t just in the parks — it’s on the tables of families in need.
