Disney World Snack Carts Go Cashless for Faster Service
As of yesterday, guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort may notice a change in how they pay for their favorite treats. Select outdoor snack carts across the resort have transitioned to a fully cashless system. This move means these locations will no longer accept paper currency or coins.
For example, the popcorn cart located in the Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle hub is one of the spots now operating as cashless. New signage has been installed at these specific locations to clearly designate them as digital-payment only.
The signs read:
“Cashless Location Please pay with Credit Card, Disney Gift Card or Mobile Payment Disney Gift Cards are Available to Purchase at your Nearest Walt Disney World Merchandise Store”
The cashless transition is not confined to a single area. In Magic Kingdom, the new policy signs were also noted at a variety of popular spots, including an Adventureland snack cart, the Frontierland kiosk, the Liberty Square popcorn cart, the Popping Machine in Fantasyland, and the snack carts in Storybook Circus.
This marks a significant operational shift, as merchandise carts have been cashless for years, but this is the first time food and beverage locations have gone entirely digital. The changes are resort-wide, extending to other Walt Disney World parks, such as Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where locations like Ice Cold Hydraulics are now clearly marked with a “Cashless Location” sign. It’s important to note that full quick-service and table-service restaurants, however, are currently continuing to accept cash.
Annual Pass Alert: Disneyland’s Magic Key Prices Just Went Up
Disneyland has implemented an immediate price increase across its Magic Key Annual Pass program. This change affects the cost of all pass tiers, applying to both new sales and current pass renewals.
The price for the two highest tiers of the Magic Key passes has seen a substantial jump, increasing by $100 to $150, depending on the specific pass type.
Here’s the breakdown:
Inspire: now $1,899 (increased $150 from $1,749)
Believe: now $1,474 (increased $100 from $1,374)
Enchant: now $974 (no change)
Imagine: now $599 (no change)
All Magic Key passes retain the convenience of monthly payment options for California residents. Since their introduction as the replacement for the legacy Disneyland annual pass program, the availability of these passes has been intermittent.
This price adjustment is part of a larger wave of increases implemented today across Disney’s domestic resorts and theme parks. Other hikes include general admission tickets, Lightning Lane access, a substantial rise in parking prices at Walt Disney World, higher costs for Walt Disney World Annual Passes, and an increase in food and beverage prices across all domestic parks and resorts.
What are your thoughts on the Magic Key price increase?
SoCal Residents Can Get Over 50% Off a 3-Day Disneyland Ticket
California residents can now take advantage of a massive offer, saving over 50% on a 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket to the Disneyland Resort for visits in early 2026.
This incredible 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket offer allows eligible California residents to visit Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure for just $83 per day, making the total price $249. This represents significant savings, considering a standard one-day ticket now ranges from $104 to $224 after the recent price increases.
The special ticket is valid for use on non-consecutive days from January 1 through May 21, 2026. Guests can begin purchasing this discounted ticket starting December 3, 2025.
To take advantage of this promotion, proof of eligible California residency (with a valid government-issued photo ID) is required for both purchase and park admission. Eligible residents may purchase a maximum of five tickets per day. Note that tickets are nonrefundable, and the offer is subject to change or cancellation without notice.
Will you be taking advantage of this special offer?
Disneyland and Disney California Adventure utilize a date-based ticket pricing system structured across six tiers, with weekends and holidays commanding higher prices than off-peak weekdays. Notably, the lowest entry point—Tier 0—remains unchanged at $104 per day.
Here is the breakdown of the other tier pricing increases:
Tier 1: increased from $126 to $129
Tier 2: increased from $142 to $149
Tier 3: increased from $164 to $169
Tier 4: increased from $180 to $184
Tier 5: increased from $196 to $199
Tier 6: increased from $206 to $224
The most significant ticket increase was applied to Tier 6, the highest pricing level, which covers major holidays like Christmas and New Year’s Eve—historically the busiest days of the year. It is important to note that these ticket prices do not include the Park Hopper add-on, which itself costs an additional $70 to $90.
In addition to theme park admission, Disney implemented a wide range of price hikes across its domestic resorts today. These increases affected numerous guest experiences, including Lightning Lane access, a substantial jump in parking prices, nearly all food and beverage items at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts, the cost of Walt Disney World Annual Passes, and Disneyland’s Magic Key program.
Disney World Removes Special Pricing on MagicBand+ for Resort Guests & Passholders
Walt Disney World has quietly eliminated the MagicBand+ pre-arrival discount previously offered to guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and current Annual Passholders. This change means that resort guests and Passholders will now pay the full retail price for MagicBand+ devices when purchasing them for their trip.
For years, even after Walt Disney World stopped providing free MagicBands, they still offered pre-arrival discounts on both the original MagicBand and the newer MagicBand+ for hotel guests and Annual Passholders. This special pricing previously saved guests $10 off the standard retail price: MagicBand+ could be purchased for $24.99 for solid colors and $34.99 for special designs.
However, Disney has now removed the notification of this discount for both Resort Hotel Guests and Annual Passholders, meaning both groups will now pay the full price for MagicBand+ when purchased before or during their vacation.
As of today, the special pricing for MagicBand+ is no longer offered. While resort guests and Passholders can still order their bands ahead of time for delivery, these bands will now be sold at the full retail price of $34.99 (for solid colors) or $44.99 (for special designs).
Did you ever take advantage of the MagicBand+ discount?

Unresponsive Guest Pronounced Deceased Following Ride on Classic Disneyland Attraction
A guest at Disneyland Park has died after riding the classic Haunted Mansion attraction, according to confirmation received by Entertainment Weekly. The incident occurred on Monday, and the guest was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The Anaheim Police Department confirmed the details, stating that Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to the Disneyland Resort after an unresponsive woman in her 60s was found just after exiting the Haunted Mansion attraction. Disneyland security personnel provided CPR until paramedics arrived. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner will determine the cause of death.
The death comes less than a month after a man died following a ride on the Stardust Racers rollercoaster at Universal Epic Universe in Orlando.
The Haunted Mansion, which first opened in 1969, is one of the park’s most beloved attractions. It currently operates under its temporary seasonal overlay, “Haunted Mansion Holiday,” themed to The Nightmare Before Christmas, which has run annually since 2001.
Notably, the Haunted Mansion is one of the few Disney parks attractions that features an explicit image of human death. The ride’s opening sequence, which utilizes special visual effects, ends with the narrator revealing a dead body hanging above visitors. Former Imagineering creative director Kim Irvine had previously indicated that her team discussed removing the hanging corpse scene during a 2021 refurbishment due to concerns that “such an image could be triggering for some guests,” though the change was deemed structurally complicated.
