Fathom Entertainment has announced that tickets are officially on sale for DickVanDyke:100thCelebration, a joyous feature-length documentary hitting theaters for just two days on the legendary entertainer’s centennial birthday weekend, December 13 & 14.

The first trailer has also debuted, offering a heartwarming glimpse into a career defined by infectious charm, masterful physical comedy, and enduring talent that has captivated audiences across generations.

Astro Fizz or Cosmic Flop? Magic Kingdom’s Newest Snack Spot is Now Open!

Magic Kingdom has a brand new spot for space-age sweets and drinks: Astro Fizz! Replacing the former Cool Ship in Tomorrowland, this kiosk is conveniently nestled between Space Mountain and Star Traders. It promises to deliver classic snacks alongside new, innovative treats.

We knew Astro Fizz was set to open in time for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but it surprised guests by opening its doors during the final Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on October 31, 2025. Of course, we raced over to try this new item and answer the question: Is Astro Fizz a cosmic hit or a major flop?

The Main Event: Cherry Cola Churro Review!

Sounds interesting and delicious right? A Cherry Cola Churro rolled in cherry sugar, drizzled with Coca-Cola Cherry icing, and topped with cherry popping candies—it’s a taste sensation waiting to happen! For us…not so much.

Our Verdict

Unlike the famously fluffy and soft Disneyland churros we know and love, this one was sort of hard—lacking that quintessential soft-on-the-inside texture.

The toppings, the supposed star of the show, were also lackluster. The Coca-Cola Cherry icing had potential, but it more or less just disappointingly tasted like sweet frosting with a hint of that Coke flavor. There wasn’t much genuine cherry flavor to speak of. We didn’t get a taste of any kind of popping candy as described, just sprinkles. I’m curious to see if we ordered it again if we would get any of the fun, fizzy texture of the popping candy.

However, we award this snack points for uniqueness and for being something genuinely new to try in the Magic Kingdom. If you love the idea, it might be worth the $7.49 gamble, but don’t go in with high expectations for a traditional, quality churro.

New Zootopia Popcorn Bucket, Food, and Drinks Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is rolling out an exciting new lineup of themed food and beverages to celebrate the grand opening of the new show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

The new show officially debuts on November 7th, and on the same day, guests will be able to sample a collection of new treats inspired by the citizens and districts of Zootopia.

New Treats and Themed Drinks

Guests will find three brand-new, limited-time food and drink items available across Discovery Island and Asia:

Clawhauser’s Big Donut Macaron: This decadent treat is a macaron filled with chocolate ganache and strawberry jelly, topped with a chocolate glaze and rainbow sprinkles.
- Where to Find It: Isle of Java
Cub Soda: A refreshing, non-alcoholic drink featuring Sprite mixed with blueberry syrup and finished with a “Pawpsicle”-inspired ice cube.

Disney Destiny Arrives in Port Canaveral Ahead of Maiden Voyage

The newest vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Destiny, arrived in Port Canaveral last night, marking a significant milestone ahead of its official christening. The ship is now set to travel to Fort Lauderdale for its naming ceremony on November 10.

Adding to the excitement of the Disney Destiny’s arrival in Port Canaveral, Superhero Minnie Mouse was on hand to give the brand-new ship a truly heroic welcome. Dressed in her special superhero suit, Minnie greeted the vessel with high energy, celebrating the fact that the Heroes and Villains-themed ship is one step closer to its Maiden Voyage. Her presence underscored the ship’s entire concept of immersing guests in epic tales of heroism, setting a celebratory and adventurous tone for the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet.

The Disney Destiny is notable for being Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever ship themed around Heroes and Villains. The design immerses guests in legendary stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Disney Parks through brand-new, exclusive onboard experiences.

The ship is scheduled to embark on its highly anticipated Maiden Voyage on November 20. Following the inaugural sailing, the Disney Destiny will offer a debut season featuring four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean, sailing from Port Everglades.

Shanghai Disney Resort Unveils Plans for New Hotel and Expanded Disneytown

Shanghai Disney Resort has surprisingly announced plans for its fourth resort hotel, even as work continues on its currently unnamed third hotel.

The new, fourth resort hotel will be situated just steps from the Shanghai Disneyland entrance, acting as a gateway to unforgettable adventures and lifelong memories. From the moment they arrive, guests will be instantly immersed in Disney’s signature storytelling and innovation. The hotel will offer unique accommodations and exclusive access to areas designed to extend the magic beyond the theme park gates.

Disneytown, the resort’s dedicated shopping and dining district—similar to Downtown Disney or Disney Springs—is located adjacent to the park’s main gate. As part of the expansion, new shopping and dining opportunities will be added to Disneytown, extending its footprint to encompass the area around and to the right of the park’s main entrance.

The resort’s third hotel, which remains unnamed, is currently under construction and will feature Art Nouveau-inspired architecture, paying homage to Shanghai’s architectural legacy of the early 20th century. It is planned to be the smallest of the resort’s first three hotels, offering just 400 rooms. Currently, the two operating hotels at the resort are the 420-room Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the larger 795-room Toy Story Hotel.

Based on the concept art, the newly announced fourth hotel appears to be another five-story structure, likely featuring a few hundred rooms, though exact capacity is not yet confirmed. No further details have been released regarding the fourth hotel. We will likely need to wait for more information on the still-developing third hotel before Disney shares additional specifics on this latest project.

Magic Kingdom Monorail Route Reversed on Sunday and back to normal on Monday

Things are taking a new turn—literally—on the Walt Disney World Monorail! Yesterday, Disney began testing a reversed route for the Magic Kingdom Express Monorail, marking a rare operational change to one of the resort’s most iconic transportation systems.

Traditionally, the Express Monorail travels counter-clockwise between the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and Magic Kingdom, zipping guests directly to the park entrance. Starting today, however, the route has flipped to a clockwise direction—mirroring the Resort Monorail Loop.

While the change may seem small, it’s actually part of a test to make train swaps more efficient. By traveling clockwise, the Express Monorail can now more easily access the switch track to the monorail barn when maintenance or breakdowns occur, allowing Cast Members to remove and replace trains faster and with fewer disruptions to service.

However, after running clockwise on Sunday, the Magic Kingdom Monorail has changed again, resuming its regular counter-clockwise operations.

This is just the latest in a series of updates for the Walt Disney World Monorail system. Earlier this year, each train received new glow-in-the-dark logos, following the addition of undercarriage lighting that matches the color of each train. These glowing enhancements, first introduced during the resort’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, continue to light up the night along the beamway.

The monorail system has been whisking guests around since Walt Disney World’s opening in 1971, later expanding in 1982 to connect to EPCOT. Today, twelve Mark VI monorails operate across three lines—Express, Resort, and EPCOT—transporting over 150,000 guests daily.

Ship Layout Revealed for the Disney Destiny

We’ve finally set sail into the details of the Disney Destiny! A stunning new cross-section illustration has been revealed, giving us a full look inside Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship before her maiden voyage later this month.

The large-scale artwork, much like those created for sister ships Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, highlights the Destiny’s signature features — from the Black Panther-inspired atrium to the beautifully themed dining rooms and dazzling entertainment venues. Every deck is brought to life with Disney magic, right down to the stateroom doors decorated with character flair.

True to the ship’s “Heroes & Villains” theme, the illustration is surrounded by some of Disney’s most dynamic duos from both sides of the storybook. Baymax and Hercules soar above the ship, while Frozone, Dash, Ursula, and Captain Hook make their appearances in the surrounding waves — a perfect nod to the balance of light and dark that defines this vessel’s theme.

The Disney Destiny, the seventh ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and third in the Wish class, follows the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. After completing successful sea trials in September 2025, she was officially delivered to Disney Cruise Line on October 15 before embarking on a transatlantic crossing to her new home port of Port Everglades, Florida, on October 20.

Holiday Treats Arrive at the Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom

It’s beginning to look (and smell) a lot like Christmas at the Main Street Confectionery! Just in time for the holiday season, festive sweets have started to make their merry debut inside this fan-favorite Magic Kingdom candy shop. From cheerful candy apples to decked-out crispy treats, the bakery cases are sparkling with sugar and spirit.

Guests will spot red, green, and white galore among the seasonal lineup. Mickey and Minnie-themed apples are dressed to impress for the holidays — one featuring red icing and green candy garland, another styled like Minnie in a snow-white bow and buttons, each priced at $14.49. There’s also a Minnie-shaped crispy treat in the same snowy white style, wrapped and ready for gifting (or snacking before the parade).

For something a little nostalgic, the Lifesavers Cherry Candy Apple ($8.49) offers a glossy red finish topped with a few gummy rings — a sweet throwback that fits right in with Main Street’s vintage holiday charm. Candy lovers can also scoop up a seasonal popcorn mix sprinkled with M&Ms, marshmallows, and festive sprinkles, packaged in an adorable peppermint-striped Minnie container.

Behind the glass, Cast Members are hard at work crafting more of these magical creations, with trays of decorated cookies and layered treats ready to join the display as the holidays roll on.

Vibrant Construction Walls Enclose Area in Toy Story Land

The construction zone for the new Toy Story Land snack kiosk is expanding and new construction walls are up as work continues to bring guests additional dining options.

Disney is in the process of installing a new snack kiosk designed to better accommodate the heavy crowds in Toy Story Land, which often feels small given the high number of guests visiting Andy’s backyard. We recently spotted the kiosk’s structure behind the walls, and it appears to be themed to resemble a giant popcorn box.

To facilitate the ongoing construction, the planters and scrim have been moved, and they now take up a larger footprint in the land. Notably, the covering has been extended to block the backstage entrance, an area that was not enclosed by construction barriers before.

Disney has brought back a beloved after-dark favorite! The Tree of Life Awakenings projection show officially returned on November 1, once again transforming the park’s central icon into a vibrant storytelling canvas nightly through November 8.

Starting November 2, the show shifts to an earlier time of 6:15 PM, after debuting on opening night at 7:15 PM to account for shorter daylight hours. This beautiful projection experience weaves together music and motion across the Tree’s carved surface, creating a brief but powerful tribute to nature and the interconnectedness of all living things.
