Marvel’s Daredevil star says she has unfinished business as Karen Page

For many fans, Charlie Cox is known to be the definitive version of Daredevil and Matt Murdock. The character enjoyed success in a popular Netflix series and finally joined the MCU. However, the actress who played Karen Page on Netflix believes her character should return.

Deborah Ann Woll says she has “unfinished” business as Karen Page.

“I would say no, partially because the Marvel series feel unfinished to me because we got canceled when we thought we were going to have more. There’s a part of me that was like, ‘I had more to say about Karen,’ and I felt I was in the middle of that story,” the Daredevil alumnus said in a recent chat with ScreenRant

In a recent interview with Marvel, Charlie Cox revealed he was just as surprised as anyone else that he got invited back to reprise his most famous role. After the critically acclaimed Netflix series Daredevil got canceled, Cox thought that was it, and confessed he was disappointed but “felt like we’d done a good job, and we had an amazing time and we could only be grateful for what we’d had.” That’s why getting a call from Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige was such a shock.

Charlie Cox made his triumphant return in the final two episodes of Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+. His appearance served as a lighthearted depiction of the character, but a more serious tone is expected for future appearances.

The character is slated to be the center of attention in Daredevil: Born Again, an 18-episode series that will function as a soft reboot of the Netflix series.

Disney Cruise Line Confirms the Purchase of New Cruise Ship

Disney Cruise Line announced today that it will be purchasing a new cruise ship! It is a partially completed ship and it will bring the magic of a Disney Cruise Line vacation to new global destinations.

Disney will work with the esteemed Meyer Werft shipbuilding company to complete the cruise ship previously known as the Global Dream in Wismar, Germany. The ship will be renamed with certain features reimagined under the world-renowned expertise of Walt Disney Imagineers and is expected to set sail in 2025.

The new ship, to be based outside the United States, will feature innovative Disney experiences along with the dazzling entertainment, world-class dining and legendary guest service that set Disney Cruise Line apart. The exterior will be adorned in the iconic, Mickey Mouse-inspired colors of the fleet, complete with signature red funnels.

The 208,000-gross-ton ship is expected to be among the first in the cruise industry to be fueled by green methanol, one of the lowest emission fuels available. Disney Cruise Line expects the passenger capacity to be approximately 6,000 with around 2,300 crew members.

Construction will be completed at the former MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany, under the management of Meyer Werft, the Papenburg-based company that built the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish. The ship’s previous owner filed for bankruptcy before completing the vessel, enabling Disney Cruise Line to secure it at a favorable price and within the capital expenditure guidance The Walt Disney Company provided on its recent earnings call. The project also secures employment for hundreds of former MV Werften employees and will provide opportunities for numerous maritime industry suppliers in the region.

More details about the maiden voyage, itineraries and onboard experiences will be announced at a later date.

The ten magnificent and imaginatively themed galleries, all featuring moving stories, unique interactive installations, and exciting background information, will take guests on a journey through 100 years of The Walt Disney Company, celebrating the classics from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Strange World, as well as the latest members of the Disney family—Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic.

From classic fairy tales and legends to original creations, this immersive and interactive installation invites visitors to explore the literary influences behind some of their favorite stories and see how they inspired Disney artists and storytellers.

“In 1923, Walt Disney set our company on a path that would revolutionize the entertainment industry, creating unforgettable stories, beloved characters, and unparalleled experiences that generations of fans around the world have enjoyed,” said Becky Cline, director of the Walt Disney Archives. “This incredible exhibit will take guests on a remarkable journey from those earliest days into Disney’s dazzling future using seamless technology, a rich musical score, and—of course—treasures from the Walt Disney Archives collection.”

“We sat down, and we thought, how do we tell this story? And it immediately became clear that if we tried to tell it as a chronological story, we knew we had to start with Walt, he created all of this. And so we thought, well, if we tell a chronological story, it’s going to start with really old stuff that, you know, a lot of the kids aren’t…”

“We want the kids to be able to see the things that they are connected to. Including some of the more modern pieces and things we thought, well, how are we going to do that without making kids wait till the very end to see what they love? And we thought, well, no, let’s focus on what Walt did and create galleries for each one of his kind of inspirations and innovations.”

Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa is a Winter Delight

If you want to try a unique holiday drink at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then you’ll need to try the Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa!

The drink is basically a frozen version of hot cocoa topped with miniature marshmallows and chocolate sauce.

We highly recommend this holiday treat and think it makes an ideal snack for those checking out the Christmas tree at Echo Lake.

You can take a closer look at the holiday drink in our Instagram video below.

We found it to be a tasty dessert beverage for chocolate lovers! Our only criticism is that the marshmallows don’t actually mix well with the frozen drink. We still enjoyed eating the marshmallows, but couldn’t get them mix into the drink like you could with regular hot cocoa. But it wasn’t that big of a deal and you can still appreciate the taste.

The drink costs $5.49 plus tax at Rosie’s All-American Café. There’s also an adult beverage option with alcohol if you want Cherry Bourbon added to it! The alcohol version costs $13.50 plus tax.

First look at Disney’s Affordable Housing Development in Central Florida

Disney has just shared more details on the Affordable Housing Development they are working on in Central Florida.

The land where the development will be located is west of State Road 429, just a few miles away from the Magic Kingdom, near schools and shopping, including Flamingo Crossings Town Center. The development is expected to include more than 1,300 units.

Read on for more details from Disney on this exciting project!

Disneys-Affordable-Housing-Development-2

We’re also excited to reveal who we’ve chosen to build, own and operate the property: The Michaels Organization, a prominent and visionary developer known for creating high-quality homes in communities in many states, including Florida.

The development is expected to be privately financed and limited to applicants within a certain income range.

“For more than 50 years, Walt Disney World has cared for and invested in our community, and we’re committed to being a part of this solution which will bring more attainable housing to Central Florida,” said Jeff Vahle, president of Walt Disney World Resort. “We will continue to find ways to use our resources to make a difference in the community we call home, and we’re excited to take this step with a nationally recognized developer.”

After a thorough search, we chose The Michaels Organization for its long-standing track record in building and managing attainable housing communities. Negotiations between Walt Disney World and The Michaels Organization on a definitive agreement for the initiative are underway. The development will be open for qualifying applicants, including Disney cast members.

“We are excited to work with an iconic brand like Disney to deliver attainable housing for the Central Florida community,” said Michaels CEO John J. O’Donnell. “Our goal is to create a repeatable model that we hope will inspire other companies and municipalities to create high quality, attainable housing in their own communities.”

This initiative will help offer a viable solution to one of the nation’s greatest challenges and will support and build upon Orange County’s Housing for All action plan to address housing affordability for local residents, an action plan brought about by the passion and leadership of Mayor Jerry Demings.

Attainable housing is one of many ways Disney engages with local leaders to help the community find lasting solutions to this issue, from donations to supplies to our Disney VoluntEARS program and more. You may remember that earlier this year, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort donated $300K to local food banks to support people in the community facing food insecurity. That donation was part of the $5.5M Walt Disney World has contributed to important community causes during the ongoing 50th Anniversary celebration, including organizations on the frontline of addressing the need for affordable housing.

Stay tuned for more details on our affordable housing initiative, including details on our construction timeline, as this work continues!
