Mickey’s Toontown Reopening Date Pushed back to March 19
Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland has been closed for almost a year as it undergoes a reimagining. The Toontown reopening date was originally announced as March 8, 2023, but has now been pushed back to March 19, 2023.
“Due to heavy winter storms that impacted our construction momentum, we are adjusting the reopening date of Mickey’s Toontown to March 19. We can’t wait for our Guests to visit and experience the reimagined land.”
The reimagined Mickey’s Toontown will provide open, grassy play spaces for everyone to unwind, starting with CenTOONial Park, the first space guests will see when they enter the land. CenTOONial Park will be anchored by two new interactive play experiences; a beautiful fountain featuring water tables designed for play that invite guests to have a sensory experience, plus a nearby dreaming tree with sculpted tree roots providing an opportunity for children to crawl and explore.
Over in Goofy’s neck of the woods, Guests will find Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard, as shown in this new aerial rendering of the area. Dedicated to all things play, Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard incorporates a whimsical sound garden where kids will discover new ways to make wacky noises, as well as enjoy an all-new, elevated clubhouse.
Donald’s Boat will be perched in the duck pond of the Goof homestead. Imagine larger-than-life spinning water lilies, balance beams and rocking toys at Donald’s Duck Pond that will help little ones get the wiggles out. Kids will definitely love making a splash in this space! Guests can also look into the boat through the portholes to witness bubbles of fun inside the flooded vessel and interact with some familiar ducklings including Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby.
For those wanting to get a little ‘nutty,’ Guests can head over to Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster, where Mickey’s Toontown’s favorite tinkerer, Gadget Hackwrench, has created a one-of-a-kind, fun-sized coaster for the town’s tiniest citizens.
And at Mickey’s House and Minnie’s House, Guests will once again be able to step right into their homes and enjoy a self-guided tour as they discover special surprises in every room. They may even be able to visit with Mickey and Minnie while they’re there, should they be home!
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin will also return, where Guests can board Lenny the Cab and spin through the streets and alleys of Toontown as they follow the adventures of Roger Rabbit.
Are you excited for Mickey’s Toontown to reopen?

No Old Timer Jokes in Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny
The Indiana Jones franchise has spanned four decades, with its fifth and final installment arriving in theaters in June of 2023. Despite Harrison Ford being in his 70’s when Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny filmed, don’t expect the story to poke fun at the actor’s age. Ford explained that age jokes were cut from the script to stay true to the character of Indiana Jones and not take the audience out of the film.
Ford told the Hollywood Reporter, “In [Dial of Destiny] there were a lot of old jokes in the script. We took them all out…There is a moment where he observes himself in this situation and says, ‘What the f-ck am I doing in here?’ But I hate what I call ‘talking about the story.’ I want to see circumstances in which the audience gets a chance to experience the story, not to be led through the nose with highlights pointed out to them. I’d rather create behavior that is the joke of age rather than talk about it.”
The film’s director James Mangold compared the actor with the iconic character by saying, “Harrison is not unlike Indy in the sense he’s carrying with him the scars of all the films he’s made — as well as his own private calamities,” “He is literally this embodiment of all those bruises, broken bones and being bounced off walls and being thrown to the floor over so many years.”
When asked how it felt to be putting on the hat, jacket, and whip one more time, Ford responded, “I’m playing this archaeologist … who wears a brown fedora … and a leather jacket regardless of the weather … and carries a whip? OK, I’ll do it! Look, it was bizarre to start with, and it’s bizarre again. But that feeling goes away immediately because it’s grounded in other things.”
Before ‘Dial of Destiny’ we last saw Indy in 2008’s ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.’ Many assumed that Crystal Skull was the end of Indy’s journey as he married Marion and rode off into the sunset with Mutt taking over the adventures, but ‘Dial of Destiny’ will serve as the final adventure for Indiana Jones.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will release worldwide in theaters on June 30, 2023. Are you excited about this last adventure with Dr. Jones? Let us know in a comment your favorite iconic Indiana Jones moment.
“I’m going to Disney World!” and “I’m going to Disneyland!” are advertising slogans used in a series of television commercials by The Walt Disney Company that began airing in 1987. Used to promote the company’s theme park resorts in Florida and California, the commercials most often are broadcast following the Super Bowl and typically feature an NFL player (usually the Super Bowl MVP) shouting the phrase while celebrating the team’s victory immediately after the championship game.

Spider-Man Noir Live-Action Series in the Works at Amazon
According to Variety, a brand new Spider-Man Noir live-action series is in the works for Amazon’s streaming service. This untitled series will follow an older Spider-Man, set in 1930’s New York City. The new show will center around a character that is not Peter Parker.
Sony has several properties in development for their “Spider-Verse,” including “Silk: Spider Society” on Amazon and, of course, a follow-up to the Animated Blockbuster Into the SpiderVerse.
The Noir project will be written and produced by Oren Uziel, with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal serving as Executive producers. The character first appeared in “Ultimate Spider-Man,” with Milo Ventimiglia providing voice acting. Nicolas Cage went on to voice the character in “Into the Spider-Verse.” The Amazon show is the first live-action appearance of Spider-Man Noir.

Pedro Pascal Stars In Hilarious Mario Kart Video Game Trailer
Pedro Pascal, most recently known for HBO’s ‘The Last of Us,’ hosted SNL for the first time this weekend. During the show, Pascal recreates an incredible trailer for a fictional Mario Kart film set in a post-apocalyptic world. The meta-humor was strong with this sketch and infinitely got us more excited than the upcoming Mario project featuring Chris Pratt.
It’s not the first time SNL has taken a theme that is generally light-hearted and added a gratuitous amount of grit. David Harbour’s Oscar the Grouch trailer based on the Joker film had us in stitches, but Pascal’s stint as the cartoon plumber was a masterpiece that will go down as one of the great all-time trailer spoofs in SNL history.
Pascal is one of Hollywood’s hottest actors at the moment. He will return to the Star Wars universe starting March 1 in season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian.’ HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ has quickly become the water-cooler hit of the winter tv season, and he’s been racking up hit shows in the past decade, from ‘Game of Thrones’ to ‘Narcos’ on Netflix.
Anyone who’s ever taken a spill on Rainbow Road will tell you this trailer is spot on. You can view the trailer from the most recent SNL online. Let us know what you think of this skit in a comment.
