Dave Filoni Teases Star Wars Rebels Characters Returning in Live-Action Ahsoka Series

Dave Filoni has served as a producer, director, and writer for several Star Wars projects, including The Mandalorian, Rebels, and Clone Wars. Filoni is the showrunner for the upcoming Live-Action Ahsoka series releasing this summer on Disney+. Filoni teased that many of the characters he created for the animated shows will transition to live-action. Filoni sat down with The Wrap to discuss integrating all these characters into a crossover project.

Filoni has brought characters like Bo Katan and Ahsoka into The Mandalorian and plans to introduce more characters. When asked how often he thinks about bringing his animated character into Live-Action, Filoni responded, “Very rarely. I know people think it’s the other way around, which is fascinating to me, but I think there’s two ways to look at that, which is that, yes, they were animated characters, but to me, they’re just characters. And now I’m over here working in live-action. I’m comfortable with those characters; I know them, I like them, and I like to see them around.”

Filoni added, “When we needed a gunslinger to go up against some of our characters in Book of Boba Fett, Cad Bane’s name came up. I think looking at that, the first thing I think is, Well, how do we do that and make it believable? Like the character, he’s so lean and gaunt in The Clone Wars. And if we don’t do that, is it all CG? How are we going to portray that? If we don’t think we can do that effectively, then we shouldn’t do it.”

Filoni teased more characters crossing over in the near future, saying, “At the end of the day, I’ve been very happy with the ones that have gone over. There may or may not be more in Ahsoka if that’s your thing. If you’re excited about that, I’m just saying that one might have a few more, which makes sense, by the way. As you know, I wrote it. You can’t fault me there.”

We know that Disney has already cast characters like Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger for upcoming projects, but we will have to wait and see what other characters make the crossover in future Star Wars projects. Sam Neill is undergoing treatment for angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma

Good Morning America reports Jurassic Park star Sam Neill is undergoing treatment for cancer.

Neill reportedly is being treated for blood cancer (angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma) with chemotherapy. The actor noted he is currently cancer free, however, is continuing to receive treatment. Neill reportedly first noted cancer symptoms while working on Jurassic World Dominion in March 2022, and began treatment shortly after.

Despite being treated for cancer, Neill is reportedly feeling well and back to work on the limited series Apples Never Fall, which will air on NBC’s streaming service Peacock.

Disney Adds Fence Around Muppets Topiary After Guest Climbs Into Garden

Yesterday we shared a video of a guest climbing into the Muppets Topiary to grab a photo with Miss Piggy at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. The video went viral with many people saying things like “This is why we can’t have nice things.”

Today Disney has put up a fence around the whole area to prevent people from walking into the garden for a photo with the Muppet Topiary.

The fence wraps around the whole display so guests can’t just walk in for photos.

The fence stands about 3 feet tall and should not interfere with guests who are wanting to take photos of Kermit and Miss Piggy for the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival.

Disney TV Stars Ride TRON Lightcycle Run for First Time at Walt Disney World

Disney Channel star Matt Cornett and ABC Stars Lauren Ash and Sean Giambrone entered the grid recently for a TRON Lightcycle/Run preview

TRON Lightcycle/Run is officially opening in just over two weeks at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, with a soft opening beginning today. Cast members, annual pass holders, DVC members, and D23 members have been experiencing the attraction via previews for the past few weeks. Recently, ABC Stars Lauren Ash and Sean Giambrone and Disney Channel Star Matt Cornett entered the grid for a special preview of their own.

All three really enjoyed their ride, as evidenced by the on-ride videos that were uploaded to YouTube. Lauren Ash (from ABC’s “Not Dead Yet”) rated the attraction a “12 out of 10”, ABC’s The Goldbergs Sean Giambrone praised Disney in noting the attraction is “incredible”, and Matt Cornett (Zombies 3) proclaiming the attraction as “so cool.”

Guests can begin to enter the grid as TRON Lightcycle/Run begins its soft opening this week, with the official opening of the attraction slated for April 4. Guests wishing to ride TRON Lightcycle/Run will need to sign up for a virtual queue or purchase an individual lightning lane, as no traditional standby line will be available during the initial launch.

Josh Gad Calls Out Critics of Disney’s Live-Action The Little Mermaid. Finally, people are starting to speak up about how ridiculous this all is. Something we have been talking about for months or maybe two years now is, time gets lost when you deal with controversy, and that is the color of a mermaid’s skin.

There is a very vocal minority of people who are downvoting the newest Disney’s The Little Mermaid trailer. These people use dog-whistling excuses like “Disney should come up with original movies for the black actresses’ and leave the classics alone” “Disney needs to stop remaking animated movies into Live-Action movies” “That’s not my Arial” and instead of just remembering that they can put the animated movie on and not go see this version, they would rather unlike, downvote, laugh at others who do enjoy this version.

Here are some real examples of our own comment section “It’s scary just how much franchises they own that they can just race swap and not care about the consequences.” “Disney is still putting the original White Ariel on their high priced merch… almost like they think no one would buy it with the new black mermaid, or something… hmmm” my personal favorite (he says with a smirk) “They should have changed the name to Lil Mermaid” “Will there be an Asian mermaid?” UGH!

Josh Gad Calls Out Critics of Disney’s Live-Action The Little Mermaid

BREAKING: The YouTube trailer of The Little Mermaid is currently being mass “disliked” on Youtube by MAGA racists. The teaser trailer has generated over 3 million dislikes, and the new trailer has over 600,000. The important thing about the controversy surrounding Halle Bailey’s casting is that we remember a beautiful and talented actress who won the role. We can’t allow racism to ever be normalized.

At the end of the day we need to stop giving people a platform to spew hatred and racism, and we need to stop letting the MAGA racists hide behind free speech. Yes, they can say whatever they want to, but you should also be held accountable for anything you do say. If they cannot be held accountable for what they say, then the majority of people who do not think or act this way need to become way more vocal and stand up against this type of hate, but then again, they also think Jan 6th was a tour of the Capitol Building.

Go ahead, and downvote this article. Downvote all you want. I for one am sick of this type of human behavior and think it’s time to stop listing to some sycophant followers. Disney fans need to remember that love and acceptance will always come through in the end, it may have made a huge step back in the past 8 to 12 years, but Disney always has happy endings, and I know our world will also.

Aerial Views of the Progress on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This is going to be a long year of nonstop updates on the retheming of Splash Mountain into the newly under-construction Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Due to opening sometime in 2024, we are seeing a ton of work being done on the outside, and we just got word last week that Tiana’s famous Tiara will grace the front sometime this summer.

In a new aerial shot of Tiana’s Bayou Construction, you get a great overhead shot of a full 360 view. So in these images, you can see all the work that is being done behind walls that are sitting at ground level. Special thanks go to @bioreconstruct on Twitter for the images.

We found the perfect accessory for Easter and Spring, a Reigning Rabbits Ear Headband! We found it at Disneyland but is also available at Walt Disney World and shopDisney for $34.99.

The ears feature an all over pattern of Judy Hopps, Thumper, Rabbit, flowers and butterflies but plush bunny ears that can be manipulated to form different folding angles and a Minnie bow with a furry pink pom pom, so cute!

We just can’t wait to wear these Lion King Minnie Ears designed by BaubleBar! They are stunning and can be yours for $58, you can find them at Disneyland and Walt Disney World retail stores, they are not available online at shopDisney yet but we hope to see them there very soon.

They feature suede sand colored ears with beaded artwork like Simba on one ear and a sun on the other, all in red, orange and yellow gemstones. They also feature orange, yellow and tan fringe all around the ears and a bright orange bow.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Reopening Delayed to March 21st

Cool temps have pushed the opening of Typhoon Lagoon back

Fans looking to hop on the Crush ‘n’ Gusher or Miss Adventure Falls will need to wait one more day, as the opening of Typhoon Lagoon has been delayed till March 21st.

Typhoon Lagoon was set to re-open after being closed for refurbishment on March 19th. However, the Central Florida weather did not cooperate, as temps today are cool and cloudy. The forecast for Monday is not promising, as the forecast is calling for a high of 67 with lows in the 40s.

Luckily, water park-friendly temps are slated to return mid-week, with temps in the Mid-’80s by Wednesday and high 80’s/low 90s by the weekend.
