Disney100 Challenge
Go the extra mile this summer and take on the Disney100 Challenge by completing all three 5K events! Challenge participants can look forward to earning this extra-special finisher medal featuring the mice that started it all – Mickey and Minnie! This year’s medal comes with some hidden magic – pop off the front part of the medal to reveal a magnet you can use to showcase your achievement on your fridge, office whiteboard or location of your choice, AND still have a keepsake medal for your wall.

Disney Vacation Club Announces Sales Dates for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will go on sale next month! Disney Vacation Club members can book the new tower beginning May 2 while the general public will be able to book starting May 30.
The brand-new tower will feature 340 themed accommodations, including newly imagined duo studios, deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and three-bedroom grand villas.
Each room will celebrate the magic of creativity from Walt Disney Animation Studios films like “Sleeping Beauty” and “The Princess and the Frog.” With modern design elements and sprinkles of pixie dust, Disney Imagineers have taken inspiration from the animators’ storytelling process –– from sketches and concept art, to story cels and color maps –– to design a stunning, 12-story tower with a variety of rooms, all reflecting the wonder of Disney.

Gov DeSantis Fight with Disney Heats Up as Legislation is Filed with Florida
The fight between Disney and Governor Ron DeSantis is starting to heat up in the State of Florida.
In a post on his Facebook Page yesterday he states:
Disney’s sloppy and futile attempt to subvert the will of the Legislature and Floridians was uncovered by our state oversight board and their 11th-hour agreements will be nullified by the Legislature. Disney’s corporate kingdom is over.
The Florida Senate has now filed legislation to stop Disney’s 11th-hour agreements made before the Central Florida Tourism Oversight Board took over the Reedy Creek Improvement District.
The legislation is an amendment to CS/SB 1604: Land Use and Development Regulations. It attempts to void Disney and Reedy Creek Improvement District’s previous agreements made back in February.
It reads:
An independent special district is precluded from complying with the terms of any development agreement, and any other agreement for which the development agreement serves in whole or part as consideration, executed within 3 months preceding the effective date of a law modifying the manner of selecting members of the governing body of the independent special district from election to appointment or from appointment to the election.
The newly elected or appointed governing body of the independent special district shall review within 4 months of taking office any development agreement and any other agreement for which the development agreement serves in whole or part as consideration and, after such review, shall vote on whether to seek readoption of such agreement. This subsection shall apply to any development agreement that is in effect on, or is executed after, the effective date of this section.
This subsection expires July 1, 2028, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment by the Legislature.
Back on April 3rd during the annual meeting of shareholders of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger took questions from shareholders. One of the questions had to do with the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Iger finally addressed Disney’s Reedy Creek Improvement District and the ongoing rift with the State of Florida. He stated that Disney, as a company has freedom of speech, and it’s petty and anti-business to retaliate against a company’s constitutional right.
Iger said, “We love the state of Florida,” and said he respected and appreciated what the state has done for Disney in the past.
Also during the shareholder meeting, Bob Iger said that Disney World Plans on Investing $17 Billion In Florida’s Economy and Creating 13,000 Jobs.
I have a feeling we are a long way from Disney and the Florida Governor reaching a middle ground in the fight for the Reedy Creek Improvement District.
DVC Members can gain access to an early screening of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as well as an after-hours event at EPCOT
DVC Members can be among the first to screen the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie via the new Screen and Scream event. The event will afford eligible members an advanced screening of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as well as after-hours access to EPCOT.
The event, which was recently announced to DVC members via email, will take place on May 4, 2023. Eligible DVC members, defined as those who purchased DVC directly from Disney and are eligible for perks, can begin registering for the event on April 19th. The event cost is $89 and affords access to Guardians of the Galaxy on May 4th as well as after-hours access to EPCOT on the same day.
The after-hours experience will be held from 10:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. and will include character experiences, snacks, and lower-than-normal wait times for EPCOT attractions. Members who do not want to screen Guardians of the Galaxy 3 on May 4th can view the movie at a later date via a voucher.

Marvel to Launch Global Marvel Move Mobile Fitness Program
Marvel has a new collaboration to get you moving this summer. Six to Start, the co-creator of wildly popular fitness app Zombies, Run! and subsidiary of OliveX (NSX: OLX), a global leader in digital fitness experiences, is excited to announce their collaboration with Marvel Entertainment for the global launch of Marvel Move, a new interactive fitness adventure for smartphones.
