Tickets and Prices Revealed for Brightline’s Miami to Orlando Route

Brightline Service from Orlando to Miami is expected to begin this summer

Brightline unveiled its Brightline Orlando Station at Orlando International Airport (MCO) on 4/20/2023. During the unveiling, Brightline announced tickets will go on sale in May for service that is expected to begin in Summer 2023. Service will include 16 daily round
trips with hourly departures between Miami and Orlando. Rail service from Orlando to Miami will be priced at $79 for SMART and $149 for PREMIUM for one-way fairs, with SMART fare bundles for families of four costing less than $199 one way.

The station, which spans an impressive 37,350 square feet, is located in Orlando International Airport’s new 80,000 sq. ft. Train Station facility adjacent to Terminal C.

The Train Station connects directly to the airport’s Parking Garage C, which will have more than 350 parking spaces branded for Brightline guests. The Train Station provides direct access to the other airport terminals A and B via the airport Terminal Link (automated people mover) in under five minutes. Transportation and mobility options at the Orlando Station include Brightline’s first and last-mile service, Brightline+, which will cater to the unique needs of the Orlando visitor.

During remarks made during the unveiling, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer stated “As a lifelong Central Floridian, it made me proud to see the advancement of our community today as our true multimodal hub becomes a reality and we celebrate the Brightline Orlando Station and soon-to-come train service to our international airport. This station represents so much more than a new train service, it is a critical connection for our community to jobs and oppertunity and further showcases the power of partnerships and what our culture of collaboration here in Central Florida can do to improve the lives of our residents, workers, and travelers when we work together.”

Orlando to South Florida Train Schedule Details
Service will begin in the Summer of 2023 and will include 16 daily round trips with hourly departures between Miami and Orlando. Brightline’s non-stop trains have a run time between Miami and Orlando of two hours and 59 minutes. Regular service from Orlando to Miami will stop at all Brightline stations including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura with a run time of three hours and 30 minutes. Additional details of Brightline’s opening schedule include:
Weekdays

Hourly southbound departures from Orlando to Miami starting at 5:00 a.m. until 8:50 p.m.
First southbound train from Orlando arrives in Miami at 8:30 a.m.
Hourly northbound departures from Miami to Orlando starting at 6:50 a.m. until 9:45 p.m.
First northbound train from Miami arrives in Orlando at 10:15 a.m.

Weekends

Hourly southbound departures from Orlando to Miami starting at 5:00 a.m. until 8:50 p.m.
First southbound train from Orlando arrives in Miami at 8:30 a.m.
Hourly northbound departures from Miami to Orlando starting at 5:45 a.m. until 9:45 p.m.
First northbound train from Miami arrives in Orlando at 9:15 a.m.

Additional dedicated trains will continue to serve commuters and the South Florida region between Miami and West Palm Beach with early morning departures at 5:00 a.m. from West Palm Beach and late night departures until 12:45 a.m. out of Miami.

Universal Orlando Resort Raises Prices on Annual Passes

Universal Orlando Annual Passholders will see an increase in the price of their pass

Those seeking to renew or purchase a Universal Orlando annual pass will need to pay a little more. Universal Orlando Resort has recently increased prices for the top two pass levels.

Pricing for the Seasonal and Power Pass levels have remained the same, while the 2-Park Preferred Pass has increased to $629.99 ($529.99 for Florida Residents) and the 2-Park Premier Pass has jumped to $904.99 ($789.99 for Florida residents).

A new 3-Park annual pass will run you $739.99 for the Preferred ( $639.99 for Florida residents) with the 3-Park Premier pass now costing $1094.99 (979.99 for Florida residents).

These new price increases represent a $90 price increase for the Preferred Pass and a $150 price increase for the Premier Pass.

In anticipation of Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” in theaters May 5, several popular General Mills products are undergoing an out-of-this-world transformation inspired by the beloved band of misfits from the film. Iconic mascots like Lucky the Leprechaun and Trix Rabbit will don new outfits – inspired by the Guardians team suits – on six highly collectible cereal boxes, while fans can also get their hands on special versions of cereal bars and Groot-Gurt – a Guardians–inspired takeover of Go-Gurt.

DiVine in Bloom for Spring at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We have recently written a few articles about meeting and greeting rare characters showing up around Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the 25th Anniversary. Today we got to see a character that can be seen daily but is now in full springtime flower bloom.

DiVine is a character in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that is dressed in vines and plants to be camouflaged in the plant life and walks on high stilts. DiVine can be seen, if you can find her, at the entrance to the Park, to the right-hand side after the ticket scanners.

Normally blending into the trees and shrubbery of the park, now you cannot miss the 12-foot or so tall giant flowering vine. Beautifully outfitted in springtime flowers, DiVine stands out. One of the weirder meet and greats, but not in a bad way, just special. DiVine is not based on any Disney IP, instead is an outside-the-Disney bubble character.

Camp Minnie-Mickey “Goofy” Makes Rare Appearance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Without going too far into the weeds here, let us look back a little into the history of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and celebrate a bit of the park’s 25th Anniversary.

Where Pandora – World of Avatar now resides, there once was a place called Camp Minnie-Mickey, which was home to character meet and greets, along with a few treat and snack stands. It was themed to the woodlands of North America, specifically the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, and was home to the Festival of the Lion King. Camp Minnie-Mickey was built on a portion of the park that was originally going to be part of the Beastly Kingdom.

This brings us back to yesterday at Animal Kingdom where we ran into our old friend from Camp Minnie-Mickey, Twitcher Goofy (bird watching). A Twitcher has nothing to do with streaming video game content, more about bird watching for the rarest birds. Goofy’s outfit is covered with patches of Disney Birds, think Zazu, Iago, Donald Duck, the Ostritch from Fantasia, and more.

New Disney100 Decorations Now on Display in the Animal Kingdom. Disney’s Animal Kingdom will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the park this Saturday, Earth Day 2023, 4/22/23. At the same time, the Walt Disney Company is celebrating ‘100 Years of Wonder’ at all the Disney Parks around the world.

Yesterday as we walked into Disney’s Animal Kingdom we were met by a brand new Disney100 marquee standing at the entrance to the park. The new D100 sign looks great in photos and makes a great Photopass image.

Flik Returns to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for 25th Anniversary Celebration. What a great week here at the Park. New Rare Characters appear every 2 days under the Tree of Life. We have already seen Terk and Jane from Disney’s Tarzan, King Louie, and Baloo from Disney’s Jungle Book. Riding on the Flotilla were Koda and Kenai from Disney’s Brother Bear.

Today we got to meet and greet Flik from Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life”, which coincidently is celebrating a 25th Anniversary later this year in November. This was a fun meet and greet, and we hope Flik will stick around until Saturday for the actual 25th.

Flik was swapping meeting spots all day today with Twitcher Goofy (fancy way of saying bird watcher), who returned from Camp Minnie-Mickey for this week’s events.

Frightful Festive Fun Coming to the Disneyland Resort for Halloween

Frightful festive fun is coming to the Disneyland Resort this Halloween season! Both parks will have festive decor, tasty eats, and so many opportunities for haunted fun.

One of my favorite parts of the Halloween season at the Disneyland Resort is seeing the new outfits on Mickey Mouse and his friends. This year, they’ll don luminescent sheer fabrics that will give a ghostly glow to their festive new ensembles at Disneyland park. Be on the lookout for lots of cobwebs and details like bat bowties and spider-shaped bells! I can’t wait to join Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends in their bewitching attire this Halloween season!

But for those of you who simply can’t wait for the Halloween season – never fear! You can celebrate Halfway to Halloween at Disneyland Resort, now through April 23.

Courtney B. Vance Joins Disney’s Live-Action Lilo & Stitch Remake

The character of Agent Bubbles has been cast for the upcoming Live-Action Lilo & Stitch

We have another Lilo & Stitch casting announcement. Deadline is reporting Courtney B. Vance has been cast as Cobra Bubbles in the live-action remake, joining Maia Kealoha (Lilo) and Sydney Agudong (Nani).

Bubbles is a character in Lilo & Stitch who becomes a social worker after a career in the FBI and is assigned to Lilo’s case. We learn in the animated movie is work with the federal government did not end with his retirement from the CIA. Ving Rhames originally voiced the character of Cobra Bubbles in the animated film.

Vance has won two Primetime Emmy’s and has been nominated for a total of 23 awards throughout his career. His previous film credits include The Hunt for Red October, Space Cowboys, and Dangerous Minds.

We still do not know how closely the live-action version of the film will follow the plot of the animated movie, however, the casting for the character of Bubbles tells us the core story will likely remain intact. The film is currently expected to premier in May 2024.

3 New Collectible Covers Revealed for D23 Magazine

The summer issue of D23 Magazine will feature three different collectible covers

Heads up D23 members, 3 new collectible covers are on their way to your mailbox. The Little Mermaid, Elemental, and Haunted Mansion will all be featured on their own covers for the Summer issue, with never-before-seen artwork showcasing the main characters from the upcoming movies.

The Little Mermaid cover features Halle Bailey, who is hanging out under the sea complete with a mermaid tail. The Haunted Mansion cover includes Rosario Dawson (Gabbie) and co-stars Owen Wilson (Father Kent), Danny DeVito (Bruce), Chase W. Dillon (Travis), Jamie Lee Curtis (Madame Leota), Tiffany Haddish (Harriet), and LaKeith Stanfield (Ben) who are hanging out in the “dead center of the room”.
