The theme parks in central Florida are required to submit an Accident and Injury report to the State of Florida for their theme parks. The theme parks in the area are required to disclose health problems/injuries on rides if guests were hospitalized for at least 24 hours. This is part of an agreement the parks made to avoid state inspections.
Here is a look at some of the accidents and injuries that occurred for the 1st quarter (January-March) of 2020.
Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom:
- March 14: Female age 74 fractured leg stepping into a boat on Jungle Cruise.
- March 18: Male age 75 fell and fractured leg while entering attraction vehicle on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
- February 28: Male age 64 had chest pains after experiencing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
- March 3: Female age 9 with a pre-existing medical condition had a seizure after riding Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
- March 12: Male age 54 had a heart attack after having experienced Toy Story Mania!.
Epcot:
- March 14: Female age 34 with a pre-existing condition experienced abdominal pain after riding Test Track.
Universal Orlando
Universal Studios:
- February 16: Male age 48 had motion sickness riding The Incredible Hulk Coaster.
Busch Gardens
- January 8: Female age 56 experienced chest pain on Kumba.
- February 9: Female age 55 experienced extreme nausea and vomiting on Montu.
Sea World
- March 9: Female age 65 experienced illness on Manta.
Legoland
- None Reported
