Oprah Wants Disney CEO Bob Iger to Run for President of the United States

Oprah Wants Disney CEO Bob Iger to Run for President of the United States. On Sunday, the Oprah run television network, OWN, featured a special interview between Oprah Winfrey and friend, Bob Iger. The main interview topic was Bob Iger’s new memoirs, The Ride of a Lifetime. During the interview, Oprah expressed her complete support of Bob Iger should he run for President of the United States (POTUS).

“This is the man I wish was running for President of the USA,” Oprah said in the interview, referring to Disney CEO Bob Iger. “His decency prevails in all decision making. His 10 steps for leadership revealed in his new book #RideOfALifetime apply to every business and every life.”

“If Bob Iger had decided to run for president, I would be canvasing in Iowa right now. I would be going door to door,” Winfrey said. Iger has previously stated he does not intend to run for POTUS, but was “flattered” by Oprah’s support of the idea. The idea is not as far-fetched as it may seem. It had previously been rumored that Bob Iger was sought after as a Democratic Candidate in the previous election, but had decided to continue in his position as Disney CEO through 2021.

During the interview, Oprah asked Iger directly, “Why didn’t you run for president? I wish first of all more than ever, everyday I think, I wish you had done it.” To which Iger replied, “I’m deeply flattered. I had this conversation with President Obama and his family a few times. His kids and his wife clearly believe I had the better job,” and they both laughed at Iger’s response.

Iger’s new memoir covers many topics through out his career, and even some controversial content, including George Lucas’s reaction to the changes being made in the Star Wars franchise. Reportedly stating that Lucas felt “betrayed” by the new direction. Bob also shares 10 steps for leadership that can be used by anyone looking to strengthen their leadership capabilities.

Would you support Bob Iger as a Candidate for POTUS? Or do you feel he made the right choice to decline? Are you interested in Iger’s memoir, The Ride of a Lifetime? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments, but please keep it civil, Thank-you!
