Marvel Studios has plans to add another cosmic hero to their cinematic universe!
According to Deadline, Marvel is officially moving forward on making a “Nova” project with Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada. There’s no word yet on whether the Nova project is intended for Disney+ as a limited series or if it will be a theatrical release.

So, who is this cosmic superhero? Nova first appeared in 1976 as a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps. His civilian name is Richard Ryder and he’s an Earth human who joins the Nova Corp. He has superhuman abilities including enhanced strength, flight and resistance to injury.
In comics, he’s been an asset to the Guardians of the Galaxy and played a significant role in several major storylines such as the Annihilation event series. Technically, the intergalactic police force has been in the MCU since 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but we never saw Richard Ryder appear with them.
It’ll be great to see Marvel build up the cosmic superhero adventures for live action!
