Daniel Chong directs Pixar’s upcoming film, “Hoppers,” set to hit theaters on March 6, 2026. Chong explains the core idea behind the movie: “In ‘Hoppers,’ we’re asking, ‘What if we could understand and communicate with the animal world?'”

He adds that the main character, Mabel, gets to “discover the animal kingdom as an animal,” which leads to “weird and often hilarious” situations. Chong describes the film as “a wild, roller coaster ride… with all the heart you expect from a classic Pixar film,” promising audiences “so much fun to watch in the theater.”

In “Hoppers,” an incredible scientific breakthrough allows humans to “hop” their consciousness into lifelike robotic animals. This innovative technology lets people communicate with animals as animals! Using this new method, Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) dives deep into the animal world, uncovering mysteries far beyond her wildest imagination. The film, produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, also features the vocal talents of Bobby Moynihan and Jon Hamm.
