Disneyland officials say the treehouse experience is here to stay but the Tarzan theme will be changing. When the attraction reopens, it will have a new theme and backstory.
The treehouse first opened as Swiss Family Treehouse in 1962. It was changed over to Tarzan’s Treehouse in 1999. This will be the third theme the attraction has had.

One possible new overlay could be “Encanto.” Disney’s ”Encanto” won the Academy Award for best animated feature this year and has become very popular with Disney fans. Lin-Manuel Miranda, composer for ”Encanto”, has suggested having an “Encanto” themed attraction in a Disney park.
Disney has not confirmed what the new theme will be or when the treehouse will reopen. Demolition of the entrance is scheduled to begin today, April 18.
Are you a fan of Tarzan’s Treehouse? What do you think the new theme will be?
