Pandora Video

If you’ve been watching all of the fantastic footage Disney has released of Animal Kingdom’s newest expansion Pandora: The World of Avatar, chances are you’ve been wondering how Disney’s fantastic Imagineering Team came up with the ideas and inspirations for this magical new world.

Well Disney released a brand new Pandora video today detailing the journeys that members of the team took to exotic locations like Bali and Jakarta where they studied carving and weaving from local artisans. These newfound skills were then used to create many of the Na’vi artifacts you’ll find scattered about Pandora including the 20 foot-tall woven totems that represent the different clans.   The video also goes on to show how the landscapes of these exotic locals inspired the floating mountains, dense forests and magnificent waterways that make up Pandora’s magnificent landscapes.

Check out the video below to see the Imagineering Team behind Pandora hard at work.

We hope you are as excited as we are about experiencing this magnificent new land featuring two dynamic new attractions, restaurants shops and more when it opens it’s doors to guests beginning May 27th.
