Disney’s Animal kingdom has a lot to roar about this summer, as they continue their celebration of Disney’s “The Lion King”. There are many sights to see, and activities to join in on.  The “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party,” is where you may see some of your favorite Lion King characters such as Timon and Rafiki. Also not to miss is the redesigned “River of Lights: We are One,” night show of stunning colorful lights and visual effects, highlighting cherished Disney movies and animals.

To add to this excitement, starting July 19th Animal kingdom will be introducing new Lion King merchandise. If you head over to Island Mercantile, Discovery Trading Company or, Mombasa Marketplace you can find these new offerings fit for everyone in your pride. Who doesn’t love matching family Disney shirts?!

Also new, safari worthy headbands and hats including the Simba ears hat, that is sure enough to make one stand out from the pack. Don’t forget the adorable, huggable plush for your little cubs! Animal kingdom will also be showcasing some new Lion King-themed treats that will be popping up, such as the Bugs ‘n Grubb waffle cone. “Tastes like chicken!”-Disney (or maybe more like chocolate and cookies and cream.)

If its adventure you seek perhaps a new Lion King scavenger hunt is calling your name. Make your way over to the Outpost, Island Mercantile, Discovery Trading Company or Mombasa Marketplace.  It will take you on a hunt for characters from the classic movie in the form of carvings around Africa. When you spot them place your sticker on your map. Once you have collected them all be sure to bring your map over to Mombasa Marketplace, which is in Harambe or go over to the Oasis, at the Outpost shop to turn in your maps for a special themed surprise. You have until September 28, 2019, while supplies last. Be sure not to miss out on The Lion King celebration this summer!
