New Disney and Amazon Agreement Will Allow Disney+ to Stream on Fire TV Devices. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Disney CEO Bob Iger shared the news during the third quarter earnings call, along with the news that Disney+ will also be available on LG and Samsung devices.
“We’re pleased to announce partnerships with Amazon Fire [TV], LG, and Samsung devices,” shared Iger during the call.

The news is very exciting for Disney fans who were concerned they would have to purchase new devices to use Disney+, but now we know that the new streaming service will be available to use on launch day, November 12th, with Amazon Fire TV.
Due to advertising disagreements between Disney and Amazon on Disney run networks (ABC, Freeform, etc), it was previously believed Disney+ would not be available to use on Amazon products, but a new agreement has changed their tune and the streaming competitors were able to find mutually agreeable terms that opened up the opportunity for Disney+ to become available on Amazon Fire TV devices.
The Disney+ app on Amazon’s Fire TV will also allow users to utilize Alexa when searching and streaming. With the simple command “Alexa, play the Mandalorian.” Alexa will be able to access the title inside the app making streaming so easy, you may not even need to use your remote!

Launching on November 12, 2019, Disney+ will be the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more, together, for the first time. From The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International segment, Disney+ will offer ad-free programming with a variety of original feature-length films, documentaries, live-action and animated series and short-form content. The service will launch in select geographic territories, including U.S., Canada, and The Netherlands, followed shortly by Australia and New Zealand, with the expectation to be available in all major markets within the first two-years.
