The Walt Disney Company has officially announced there will be a new Muppets series for BBC One. The team behind the legendary Muppets TV show are now working on a new Saturday night entertainment series for BBC One. The new Muppets series for BBC One will be called That Puppet Game Show.
The up-and-coming TV show host Dougie Colon will front That Puppet Game Show, which will feature individual games that will be run and hosted by different puppets.
That Puppet Game Show will be a co-production with The Jim Henson Company. It will also feature elements of a sitcom and broadcaster Danny Baker, who is also working on the project, has promised the show will be “a warm, cheeky, family affair fuelled by a healthy dose of off-the-wall, madcap fun.”
Celebrity guests will even make appearances while competing in a series of games, hoping to win £10,000 for chosen charities. Gary Linekar and Jonathan Ross are already lined up, as well as Vernon Kay and Katherine Jenkins.
The new Muppet series will launch later this year, but dates are still to be confirmed
