‘Mulan’ Surpasses ‘Hamilton’ In Views Over Premiere Weekend on Disney+. Recently, Disney made the historical decisions to premiere the live-action Mulan remake in a Video on Demand (VOD) format exclusively on Disney+ with an all-new feature called Premier Access. Disney+ Premier Access gave access to the film for Disney+ subscribers and the added fee has not hindered the film from performing well on the streaming platform.

Disney’s Mulan currently sits at a Rotten Tomatoes score of 75%, making it a certified fresh film and one of the highest rated Disney live-action films to date. The film has earned approximately $39.4 Million at the global box office, but has yet to premiere in several key countries around the world, making it difficult to say how the film will compare throughout its premiere compared to a traditional theatrically released film.

“When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation… and a proud father.”
