The live-action film was originally slated to release in theaters March 27th, but was delayed 3 times by Disney due to the pandemic, leading the company to choose releasing the film digitally. Many fans have been urging Disney to release the film digitally, some as early as the first cancelation and/or after the very early releases of both Disney-Pixar’s Onward and Disney’s Frozen II on Disney+.

Mulan stars Yifei Liu (Mulan), Jet Li (Emperor), Donnie Yen (Commander Tung), Gong Li (Xianniang), Yoson An (Honghui), and Jason Scott Lee (Böri Khan). The live-action ‘Mulan‘ is now streaming via Disney+ Premier Access (additional $29.99 USD per subscription), and will be available to all Disney+ subscribers this December. Both the animated Mulan and Mulan II are currently available to stream exclusively on Disney+.

  1. Unfortunately with the price tag of $29.99 to get this movie on Disney+, the ratings are going to be low because people do not want to pay this fee on top of their Disney+ fee. I personally purchased advanced screening at the above price as I had 5 people who wanted to see it. It was by far the best live action remake from Disney to date.
