Southwest Airlines is announcing new direct flights to Florida, as well as more frequent flights to Orlando.
“Florida continues to be the No. 1 destination state for Milwaukee-based travelers, and Southwest is responding to this demand by flying to an additional Florida airport from MKE.”
Spirit Airlines also plans to increase its operations at Orlando International Airport and create more local jobs. The airport announced that the Miramar-based airliner will move part of its operational control center — which helps it track flights — from South Florida to Orlando starting in June. That means 75 positions, or 40% of the jobs in South Florida, will move to Central Florida.
