Mohamed Diab to Direct Oscar Isaac Led ‘Moon Knight‘ Marvel Series Coming to Disney+. Marvel Studios had previously announced Jeremy Slater would pen the script for the new series and now director Mohamed Diab will be joining Slater on the production team. Earlier this week it was also announced that Star Wars and X-Men: Apocalypse star, Oscar Isaac would led the series as Marc Spector/Moon Knight.
For those who find themselves going, “Who’s Moon Knight?” shares this short description, “Moon Knight is actually Marc Spector, a former CIA agent who was almost killed by a terrorist named Bushman but was saved by the Moon God Khonshu. After he defeated Bushman he would become the Moon Knight and wear the all-white costume that has become his trademark.
The other major element to the lead character is that Spector isn’t his only personality. Inside Marc’s head reside four personalities that are variations on the core person. In addition to Spector, his mind holds Steven Grant, Jake Lockley, and Khonshu himself, and all four interact and at times cooperate and at others vie for control. This is what sets the hero apart from so many others, and is also why Moon Knight goes to places that other heroes aren’t comfortable going.
Disney+ and Marvel Studios have yet to comment on the plot points of the upcoming series, but with casting underway it safe to say filming should begin very soon for Moon Knight. Currently, Moon Knight is expected to begin filming at Pinewood Studios in the UK, the studio that is currently hosting the live-action The Little Mermaid and the soon to begin filming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
