Michael Rooker is Ready for a Yondu Prequel Marvel and Disney+ Series

Michael Rooker is Ready for a Yondu Prequel Marvel and Disney+ Series. He may be gone, but he is certainly not forgotten! Micheal Rooker’s Yondu Udonta goes through some major character development in just two films and there were minimal dry eyes in the house after the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when he selflessly saves the Guardians by sacrificing himself and regaining the respect of his fellow Ravagers. Well, if you feared he may be gone for good, like in all comic book stories, he may have a chance to return! Excluding Bruce Wayne’s parents and Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben of course… (Sorry)

Rumors had been swirling that Disney and Marvel were looking to develop even more Disney+ content and have teased the idea of some prequel series similar to how Marvel Studios’ Black Widow will fit into the MCU. The various series would be used to help fill plot holes left by the films and patch together storylines that have gone unnoticed but could hold crucial information about characters and events that could not be explored in the films. one such rumored series is a Yondu Udonta focused series, potentially with a young Peter Quill or his adventures with the Ravagers.

Actor Michael Rooker recently spoke with Mama’s Geeky about his willingness to return to Marvel to which he replied, “I will sign onto anything. I’m out of work right now. So bring it on, baby, bring it on [laughs]. I’ll sign onto anything. I love the [character]. I really, really, truly enjoyed playing Yondu.”

Previously Rooker had shared with ComicBook his admiration for the role stating, “The role was “beautifully written” and [Yondu] a “very well-rounded character” under writer-director and friend James Gunn, and of course, of course [I would return].”

Would you like to see a Yondu Marvel series on Disney+? What other Marvel stories would you like to see on the streaming service? We would love to know your thoughts in the comments. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
