Meet the 2019 Disney Legends Award Recipients. The new group of Disney Legends come from different backgrounds, careers, and talents, but the one thing they have in common is the profound impact they have made with Disney.
This year we celebrated the induction of:
Robert Downey Jr., Diane Sawyer, Jon Favreau, Hans Zimmer, Robin Roberts, Barnette Ricci, Christina Aguilera, Ming-Na Wen, James Earl Jones, Wing T. Chao, Kenny Ortega, and Bette Midler.
Unfortunately, Hans Zimmer, James Earl Jones, and Bette Midler could not make it to the D23 Expo to accept their awards. Both Zimmer and Jones thanked the audience with videos submitted for the event and Bette Midler’s daughter, Sophie Von Haselberg, gave her acceptance speech after Midler was unable to attend due to poor weather conditions.
We are excited to share photos of the new Disney Legends as they accepted their awards and gave rousing acceptance speeches. Here are your 2019 Disney Legend Recipients!
Diane Sawyer
Barnette Ricci (Disney Parks)
Wing T. Chao (Disney Parks and Resorts)

Check out the video of the new Disney Legends as they sign their names and leave their handprints to be displayed with the Disney Legends that came before them, and the legends who yet to come. You can see the video by CLICKING HERE.
