How to Maximize Cabin Space on a Disney Cruise

Disney Cruise line does have some of the largest staterooms of any of the cruise lines HOWEVER when sailing with your family of 4 in a standard sized cabin aboard Disney’s ships you will find yourself crammed for space at times. We had gone on a 5 night on the Dream and a 3 night on the Disney Dream but this summer we went on a 7 night on the Fantasy. Knowing ahead of time how much space our interior cabin would have I wanted to try and maximize that space as much as possible.

I HIGHLY recommend buying these two simple items before setting sail.

1). An over the door shoe organizer:

This worked BRILLIANTLY for our family! We hung it over the back of our bathroom door and it held everything from swim goggles, sunscreen,  jewelry, lotion, hair brushes and hair product to deodorant  This helped us so much as far as maximizing our space within our state-room. I picked this up at Walmart for around 7.00, money WELL spent for sure!

2. Hanging clothes stackers

On our 3 night cruise we pretty much just lived out of the suitcases and would pull them from under the bed when we needed to get dressed but knowing we would be on board for 7 nights and knowing drawer space is very limited I wanted a way to unpack ALL of our clothes in the stateroom. I went to Walmart and spent around 10.00 on one of these hanging clothes stackers.

It was brilliant for us because it basically added 5 “drawers” for me to completely unpack the kids clothes for the week. We put it on the smaller side of the closet and then had the entire other side of the closet to hang up nice shirts and dresses.

If you are going on a Disney cruise, or any cruise for that matter, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing these two items to help with cabin space.
