Marvel Studios begins Production of “Ant-Man”

Marvel Studios begins production of their newest super heroes movie “Ant-Man”.  which begins shooting today in San Francisco, California.  “Ant-Man will also include shoots in Atlanta, Georgia as the base location for the movie.

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” is the story of con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) whose powers include the ability to shrink in size but gain super strength.  In the movie, Scott must find his inner-hero and work with his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), to protect the secret behind the spectacular Ant-Man suit, and against all odds, pull of the heist of the century that will save the world.

“Ant-Man” stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym and Evangeline Lilly as Dr. Pym’s daughter, Hope Van Dyne.  Also starring in “Ant-Man” are  Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson , Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian (“The Dark Knight,” “Prisoners”), Wood Harris, John Slattery and Gregg Turkington.   The film to be directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee serving as executive producers will be released in U.S. theatres on July 15, 2015.

Based on the Marvel comic character first published in 1962, Marvel’s “Ant-Man” continues the lineage of epic big-screen adventures chronicled in Marvel’s “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and the upcoming Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
