Margot Robbie Looking to Be Featured as an LGBT Character in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ Reboot. The Pirates of the Caribbean reboot is said to feature a primarily female-led cast, but it seems the new franchise star, Margot Robbie, has a breakthrough goal for her role in the film series.
Reportedly, Margot Robbie is pulling for her character to be a member of the LGBT community. A source shared with Express that: “Margot wants her character in PotC film to be LGBT.” Though there have been a wider range of characters featured in the Pirates films this would be the first lead role in the franchise to be openly gunning for a same-sex relationship on screen.
Though an official cast list has yet to be shared with the public, Margot Robbie has confirmed the news of her casting herself, with rumors that Karen Gillan is also in talks to star in the 6th Pirates film. The untitled Pirates film is currently being written and directed by Christina Hodson for Disney.
