A man was arrested at Disney Springs for impersonating a law enforcement officer and carrying a concealed weapon according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Nathaniel Smith, 18, was flagged by security at Disney Springs for having a concealed gun on him.
Orange County deputies say Smith said he was recently hired by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a special agent in the Atlanta, Georgia division.
When the deputy asked to see his badge which looked like one they saw on Amazon, Smith pulled one out but was unable to provide a name or phone number of his supervisor.
Smith claimed he forgot his DEA-issued photo identification card and he “was upset with himself” because he knew that was against department policy, according to the affidavit.
Smith was attempting to bring in a loaded Glock 19 replica BB gun inside his waistband.
The badge and BB gun were seized and the 18-year-old was arrested.
He’s charged with impersonating an officer, unlawful display of a badge, and carrying a concealed weapon.
