Hello All this is Amanda here with some Magic Kingdom Capacity news. We have heard that the Magic Kingdom closed on Christmas Day around 11:42 AM due to Phase 2 capacity. It eventually reopened around 3:00PM. The lines continued to remain long as well as wait times. Around 2:50pm some of the wait times were – Space Mountain 130 mins, Peter Pan 110 mins, Big Thunder 90 mins, Barnstormer 80 mins, Under the Sea 80 mins, Haunted Mansion 75 mins,  Splash 75 mins, Winnie the Pooh 70 mins.

With the news being said it was a level 2 capacity so we wanted to know what the capacities where and we found the following information to share for future trips:

Chip’s Tips – I highly recommend getting a Touring Plans Line app on your phone that way you can keep track of all the lines.

After hearing this news we were wondering what your thoughts are on attending a park on a phase capacity day? Would it be worth it to stick it out or would you do something else? Let us know in the comment box below. Merry Christmas!

  1. There is no part of my being that would want to be there this time of year. Especially when I know that post 2 January would be empty in comparison to these crowds.

  2. That would be interesting to know. When we were there, the lines for Space Mtn were 5 and 10 minutes (first thing in the morning, of course!) But our longest wait of the 8 days we were at the parks was signing my son up for the Jedi Academy!! (And we thought 50 minutes was such a LONG time!!)
