Hey now, hey now, this is what dreams are made of! Our 13 year old self is freaking out right now because Lizzie McGuire is back after 15 years!!
One of the biggest announcements during D23 expo was that Hilary Duff will be reprising her role as Lizzie in a new series coming to Disney+ in 2020. The nostalgia is real with this one, so get your inflatable backpack, wedge shoes and crazy hairstyles because Lizzie is back.
Have you ever wondered what Lizzie’s life is about now? Well you don’t have to wonder anymore. The show will follow Lizzie, as a childless millennial, living in her dream apartment in Brooklyn, working as an interior designer apprentice, and getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday with her fiancé (a chef at a cool restaurant in Soho) and friends!
But if you believe, she’s got a picture perfect plan, she’s got you fooled because she is only doing the best she can.
But that’s not all, animated Lizzie is also back (still as a 13 year old), that loud voice inside her head that we all loved saying things that adult Lizzie would like to be saying out loud.
Hilary also mentioned we might be seeing Miranda, Gordo, Ethan and Kate back, and speaking of Gordo, she didn’t want to give too much away but she thinks fans will see their dreams fulfilled by going on the journey of the show. Would that mean Lizzie and Gordo might finally get together??
“I think now is a great time for her to come back in her 30’s and you know, she is everybody’s best friend, and i can’t wait to go on this next chapter with her and i hope everyone is as excited as i am” said Hilary.
Well we definitely are!!
