As your average person, I love waffles. As your average Disney Addict, I LOVE MICKEY WAFFLES, and I love to Make Mickey Waffles! Many might think that all Mickey Waffles are the same, but there’s one ingredient that is a must for me. To recreate the Mickey Waffles from the Parks and Resorts, Carbon’s Golden Malted Pancake & Waffle mix is the ultimate MUST HAVE.
Let’s make waffles!
Since 1937, when Carbon’s developed their patented recipe for Golden Malted Waffle & Pancake Mix, they’ve been creating delicious golden-brown waffles and light & fluffy pancakes. This mix is used in the recipe for Mickey and other character waffles at the Disney Parks and Resorts. They have a unique blend of real malt and vanilla. Even making regular Sunday morning pancakes with this mix is a delicious variation to the normal boxed mixes at the store.
For my Mickey waffles, and in this video, I used the recipe from thedisneychef.com with a variation. I omit the flour, baking soda, and salt and instead use 2 cups of Carbon’s Golden Malted Pancake & Waffle mix. Of course a Mickey Waffle Maker

INGREDIENTS
- 4 eggs, separated
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup (half a stick) of butter or margarine, melted, cooled to room temp
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups Carbon’s Golden Malted Pancake & Waffle Mix
INSTRUCTIONS
Beat egg yolks in a large bowl until the sugar is thoroughly mixed and the yolks are thick and sunny colored. Add the milk, cooled melted butter, and vanilla extract and stir until combined. Then add Carbon’s Golden Malted Pancake & Waffle Mix. Mix well, but be sure not to over mix. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk until the mixture resembles that of thick pudding.
In a separate bowl, using a mixer, beat egg whites until stiff. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the egg whites into the batter. DO NOT MIX. Bake, following the instructions of your waffle maker until golden brown. These waffles rise and get very fluffy so be sure not to add to much batter. For those using a lock-lid waffle maker, this is especially important.
It is important to note that the crispness of the waffle will depend on the type of Waffle Maker you use.
