Kim Irvine and Leota Toombs Make History with Joint Disneyland Window Dedication

After more than 50 years of shaping the magic at Walt Disney Imagineering, Kim Irvine has been honored alongside her mother, Leota Toombs, with a dedicated window on Main Street, U.S.A. This historic tribute—the first of its kind for a mother-daughter duo—coincides perfectly with Kim’s 2025 retirement during Disneyland’s milestone 70th anniversary.

In her role as Executive Creative Director of Walt Disney Imagineering’s Anaheim office, Kim Irvine was the creative force behind the aesthetic identity of nearly every Disneyland project, from color palettes to intricate interior designs. She viewed Imagineering not just as a job, but as a stewardship of Walt Disney’s original vision. “Our Guests own this place,” Kim often remarked. “This is their park. We just take care of it for them.” This morning, April 21, that stewardship was immortalized during a formal window dedication ceremony in Disneyland Park.

The tribute is now part of the Main Street skyline, nestled on the façade of the Crystal Arts shop. Positioned just above the storefront signage, the window is elegantly framed by vibrant stained-glass floral accents. The gold-leaf lettering on the glass reads:

“Crystal Ball Glass Co.

Summoning the spirits of creativity…on windows, doors and…regions beyond!

This dedication marks a historic milestone as the first-ever mother-daughter window in the history of Main Street, U.S.A. Following tradition, the honorees were presented with a personal replica of the display, which features custom theming that honors their unique contributions. For Kim, that legacy is inextricably linked to her mother, Disney Legend Leota Toombs. Leota is most famously remembered as the face of the Haunted Mansion’s Madame Leota and the voice of the “Ghostess” (Little Leota) at the attraction’s exit. Kim famously carried this torch in 2001, stepping into her mother’s iconic role to record new incantations for the debut of Haunted Mansion Holiday.
