Disney’s Kidani Village Lobby Set for Multi-Phase Upgrade
If you have an upcoming stay planned at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, you’ll want to take note of some big temporary changes! The main lobby area is gearing up for a multi-month, phased refurbishment running from August 17 through early November.
While the resort’s popular savanna views and dining spots like Sanaa will remain fully accessible, the project will temporarily impact check-in, gift shop access, corridor elevators, and certain public amenities. Here is the full breakdown of what to expect during each phase of the renovation.

Phase 1: Main Lobby & Primary Entrance (August 17 – October 9)
The largest block of work begins on August 17 when the main lobby and primary entrance close.
- Check-In Relocation: Front Desk operations will temporarily shift to the Palace Library. Cast Members and directional signage will be on hand to guide arriving guests to the temporary desk.
- Johari Treasures: The resort gift shop will close temporarily from August 17 through August 28, reopening to guests on August 29.
Phase 2: North Lobby Corridor (September 28 – October 9)
Work expands into the north lobby corridor for a brief window that overlaps slightly with the main lobby closure.
- Unavailable Areas: Second-floor elevators on the north side of the lobby and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be closed during this stretch.
Phase 3: South Lobby Corridor (October 26 – November 6)
The final scheduled phase shifts to the south lobby corridor, wrapping up in early November.
- Unavailable Areas: Community Hall, the Safari So Good Arcade, the resort laundry room, lobby restrooms, the Palace Library, and the outdoor terrace observation deck will be temporarily out of service.
- Daytime Noise: Disney has advised that work will take place primarily during daytime hours. Guests near or passing through the lobby area may see construction equipment and hear noticeable work taking place.
- Wayfinding: Expect temporary detours and signs directing foot traffic around closed corridor sections.
