John Williams Beats His Own Record For Most Oscar Nominated Living Person Ever. The famed composer has beaten his own record for the most Academy Awards Nominations for a single living person with a whopping 52 nominations to date. John Williams recently worked on the soundtracks for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disney Parks and on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, earning him the new tally.
The 87-year old composer has written many iconic cinematic soundtracks including: Jaws, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Schindler’s List. Out of his 52 nominations, Williams has brought home 5 Oscars for his works, and may bring home a 6th at the 2020 Academy Awards.
The Walt Disney Company as a whole received 23 nominations in this years Oscars, with films such as Jojo Rabbit (20th Century Fox), Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Lucasfilm), and Toy Story 4 (Pixar), pulling multiple nominations for the studios.
The 92nd Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at the Dolby® Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The Oscars also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
