John Stamos Shares Message of Hope Using “It’s A Small World” Lyrics. Self proclaimed massive Disney Fan John Stamos is helping to encourage fans around the world to remember how small of a world we are really a part of by having fans slow down and read through the touching lyrics of the famed Disney attraction tune: “It’s A Small World (After All)“.

John shared a post to his verified Facebook account urging fans to take a moment and read through the lyrics carefully, and gave a short history lesson on the origin of the story behind the ‘earworm’ melody of the song.

John’s post reads:

“Please take a minute to read these words to It’s a Small World (without the ‘earworm’ melody, as Richard Sherman calls it)
That simple song was written as a prayer for peace at the height of the Cold War. But it’s as poignant today as it was when it debuted at the New York World’s Fair in 1964.

Penned by the sons of immigrants, the great Richard and Robert Sherman – it speaks to the universal emotions we share—laughter, tears, hope, and fears—assuring us that though we are divided by the mountains and oceans of geography, language, culture and politics, the same moon and sun that shines on us here, shines on Italy, Spain and everywhere else in the world. In its most hopeful idealism, the song invites us to see the world beyond our privilege, and realize we’re connected in ways we don’t even realize.
