It was just announced that John Lasseter is leaving Disney at years end. Lasseter is the co-founder of Pixar and chief creative officer for Pixar and Walt Disney Animation. At the end of 2018 he will step down and leave the company. Lasseter began a leave of absence late fall of 2017 but it seems he will consult until the end of 2018 when his role will officially terminate. There have not been any replacements announced as of yet but the New York Times report: “Frozen director Jennifer Lee will take on a leadership role at Walt Disney Animation and Pete Docter, the director of Inside Out and Up will do the same at Pixar.”
