J.J. Abrams and Son Creating Limited Series Spider-Man Comic Book. According to ComicBook.com, Marvel has been hinting at something Spider-Man related with a series of photos with web-styled numbering slowly counting down over the last few days.
Speaking to The New York Times, J.J. teased, “The story shows Peter Parker in a way you haven’t seen him before.”
“Spider-Man is one of those super heroes where the more you read about him, for me at least, the less I understand him,” added Henry. “He’s so anti-everything that you’d expect from a hero. I think Stan Lee said something about putting the human in superhuman. That is what we’re trying to do.”

It’s seem the gene’s are strong with this one. Both in appearances and in talent!
Henry Abrams is making a name for himself in the entertainment industry, and has partnered with his father, J.J. Abrams the talented director and produce of films such as Star Wars Episodes VII-IX, Star Trek, Lost, and more, to write a new Spider-Man Comic Book for Marvel. The new limited series will feature artwork by the incredibly talented Sara Pichelli and feature an all new villain by the name of “Cadaverous.”
The pair seem eager and nervous for the comics release this September. It must feel like an amazing accomplishment from the father-son duo who share a passion for creative storytelling.
From what we know of the premise, the new villain, Cadaverous, will cause problems for both Spider-Man and Peter Parker, as well as Mary Jane Watson. Take a look at the chilling cover, created by Olivier Coipel for the new limited series Spider-Man Comic’s!
The idea for the new comic mini-series was originally pitched 10 years ago by Marvel Editor, Nick Lowe.
“Nick Lowe, the editor of this comic, reached out about 10 years ago,” Abrams said. “More recently we began to develop an idea: a new and different and exciting take on Spider-Man.”
“Nick had been pressing me to do a book with him,” J.J. said. “A year or so ago, I started talking about it with Henry and it sort of happened organically. And that has been the joy of this. Even though I’ve been talking to Nick for a long time, weirdly, this feels like it just sort of evolved from the conversations of Henry and I, having ideas that got us excited and Nick being open to the collaboration.”
We can’t wait to see Spider-Man swing into action and onto the shelves of our local book and game stores this September!
