The new marketing campaign will premiere a 30-second Cinderella inspired spot during the 87th Academy Awards on February 22nd. The spot will showcase JCPenney fashion including a Cinderella costume from the Disney Shop located inside 565 JCPenneys nationwide. The idea behind the marketing is aimed at empowering women of all ages and showing that style and fashion to feel your best is available at JCPenney at a price women can feel good about, and making every moment a potential to become a fairy tale moment.
JCPenney store in Manhattan Mall will have a treat for customers from Feb 12th to 22nd, with the display of the beautiful ball gown from the movie. The store is also hosting the Design students from The Fashion School at Kent State University who are invited to view the gown and showcase their creativity by submitting their design interpretation of a modern day fairy tale look. The winning designer, chosen by a panel of judges including JCPenney style voice Nina Garcia and fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, will receive a $5,000 scholarship and an opportunity to have their design displayed.
JCPenney is also hosting a fairy tale experience for select young women. A workshop encouraging confidence, self-motivation, health and wellness as well as a private dining event with special guests, a JCPenney shopping spree and makeover and the opportunity to attend the red carpet premiere of “Cinderella” on March 1 at the El Capitan Theatre is going to be a dream come true for some lucky young ladies!
