Jamie Foxx to Return as Electro in Sony and Marvel Studios’ ‘Spider-Man 3‘. Fans were delighted and surprised when J.K. Simmons reprised his role as J. Jonah Jameson at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home and revealed Spider-Man’s true identity as Peter Parker. In more surprising news, it appears Jamie Foxx has been in talks with Sony and Marvel Studios and is set to reprise his role as Eelctro for the upcoming and untitled Spider-Man 3 starring Tom Holland and Zendaya.
Previously, Jamie Foxx portrayed Electro in Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and like J.K. Simmons, will be one of the first characters to cross over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the previous Spider-Man films. Marvel has yet to comment on the reported casting, and it will be interesting to see if Foxx will represent the same style of Electro, or if he will be recharged for the new film.
