James Gunn Confirms ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3‘ Soundtrack Has Already Been Completed. Marvel fans are well aware of the Awesome Mix Vol. 1 and 2, and there has been plenty of speculation about which songs will appear in the upcoming Awesome Mix Vol 3.
Director James Gunn has previously shared that he and his brother, Sean Gunn (Kraglin / on set Rocket Raccoon), were the ones to curate the Awesome Mixes in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and now James has confirmed the soundtrack for GotGV3 is done and reiterated that the movie will begin at the end of the year.
At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 Peter was gifted a Zune, for those who do not know, the Zune was one of the earliest forms of reliable MP3 players and could hold hundreds of songs, rather than a couple dozen or so that could be stored on CD’s or cassette tapes at the time. This would be a huge deal to someone like Peter who cherished his gifts from his mother and is also a huge music lover. I mean, he only had tunes from the 70’s to jam to, and now Quill will get the chance to jump into new generations of music!
The first two albums were a huge hit, and we fully expect the third album to be filled with beloved classics. Which songs do you think have made the cut for “Awesome Mix Vol. 3”? We would love to hear your predictions and thoughts in the comments.
